Welcome back and thanks for the update! So far no bugs to report on my side. I was wondering, in the near furtre, will Karma power also be based from post count / time on board ?

Hey misty, sorry about that. Here's my original post:

I'm sure somebody else has already asked about this, but there is one feature (really probably a minor code change) that will determine whether or not this mod is at all useful to me. Is it possible (and if so can somebody explain how to do this) to make it so that only Admin's can change a person's Karma? (Note: not so that only Admin's can VIEW Karma, as is already possible, but only Admin's can add or remove Karma points). This would allow it to essentially function as a reward system under which a user may be rewarded with greater karma by Admins. Alternatively, if such a mod already exists somewhere else, could you point me in the right direction? I've been looking for quite a while but haven't been able to find one. There was a great mod for that purpose in phpBB2, but not for 3 apparently.

Sir Glen wrote:That could work; I know just enough to understand what you're saying (and it makes sense) but not enough to actually construct the code myself. Anyone interested in taking a crack at this? If so I'll set up a test install and give it a go, see how it works. If it DOES work, and the original programmer is ok with it, it could become the basis for a much needed Rep sytem mod, as opposed to a Karma mod.
Well, I have modified the template code a little bit so the buttons could be next to the other buttons, like this:
Image

But basically you need to add this little code before the buttons HTML code:

Code: Select all

<!-- IF U_ACP -->
And this one after:

Code: Select all

<!-- ENDIF -->
So if you, for example, had this code:

Code: Select all

					<!-- IF postrow.S_KARMA_ENABLED -->
						<!-- IF postrow.U_KARMA_INCREASE --><a href="{postrow.U_KARMA_INCREASE}">{postrow.KARMA_INCREASE_IMG}</a> <!-- ENDIF -->
						<!-- IF postrow.U_KARMA_DECREASE --><a href="{postrow.U_KARMA_DECREASE}">{postrow.KARMA_DECREASE_IMG}</a> <!-- ENDIF -->
					<!-- ENDIF -->
It will end like this:

Code: Select all

				<!-- IF U_ACP -->
					<!-- IF postrow.S_KARMA_ENABLED -->
						<!-- IF postrow.U_KARMA_INCREASE --><a href="{postrow.U_KARMA_INCREASE}">{postrow.KARMA_INCREASE_IMG}</a> <!-- ENDIF -->
						<!-- IF postrow.U_KARMA_DECREASE --><a href="{postrow.U_KARMA_DECREASE}">{postrow.KARMA_DECREASE_IMG}</a> <!-- ENDIF -->
					<!-- ENDIF -->
				<!-- ENDIF -->
You can also change the IF statement if you want your moderators to see the buttons too.

Hope that it helps. ;)

PD: The code in the example is from the subsilver2 template.

Hi

I would like to remove the "Are you sure" page after the user clicks on increase or reduce karma, I wish they go directly to the confirmation "user's karma has been reduced" page.

Is that possibile, and how?
My comments and karma power are disable (karma power is actually enabled, but it cannot work without comments).

Thanks! :D

Ps
Nice mod. ;)

Khm, i'll think about removing this page, but have a question, why karma power doesn't work w/o comments?

Because it is in the "post comment" page that you select karma power.

Another thing.

One of my users has a macintosh, and neither with Opera neither with Safari can view the karma buttons.
There is a fix for that?

Using a Mac myself and never had a problem with the buttons showing, in both Firefox or Safari.

Why then she can't see the buttons?
Any other idea?

Another thing: about the confirmation ("are you sure...") page. If on that page I click "NO", I get the comments and karma power page, even if the comments are disabled!!!
