MOD Title: RSS Feed Parser in Conjunction with Feeds Everywhere
MOD Description: See below
MOD Version: 1.0.0

MOD Download: in dev
Last Stable version: None

Feeds Everywhere RC-1 Released: http://files.barrycarlyon.servegame.org/phpbb/

Demo Board: None right now

Request: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 2&t=565449

This one works both ways, creates and reads in rss feeds.
In essence a fake user or bot adds to a forum or forums for each feed(s) the news stories updated say every day at midnight or configurable by the user, as well as what data to display

Initailly support RSS/XML/ATOM latest and later XML/RPC

Now the other way aka Feeds Everywhere allow topic starts to have a feed for their thread, same for forums, the whole shebang, stickies, ann. etc.
Hence the out of your, name :-)

Dev Additions

* suggested by matgallis -> Overall post count control (entirely possible but dont go resynchin your post count, unless i edit that routine)

* ego search will be rss-erise
* validation :-)

......Only because you edited it AFTER your last post. I followed the link next to "download". And yes there WAS A LINK THERE until you removed it. Please don't try making me look like an idiot, as it was your own foolishness, not mine that led to that mistake.

Take a closer look at "DEV" threads. There's USUALLY a download. I think you are meaning "ALPHA" which you were not marking this as. RC1 would be if it was pretty much done, which I never expected. When there was a link next to the "Download" section, I figured it represented where to find the development of this project, including several bugs and probably many of the features not working yet..... After the link you had next to the word "Download" actually went to your website, I figured maybe it was leading me there to locate the development file.......It did not, so that is why I posted my inital thread. Then you accuse me of not reading your inital post, while editing/changing it. I don't appreciate that one bit, thus the reason I bother to even write this.....

Thanks for that jab. It's only been 2 1/2 months. The author and I had discussed this in PM's quite some time ago as to keep from cluttering his thread any worse. So thanks to the additional value-added post you made in this topic, the least I could do is try to steer it back on-track......

So is there any new developments on this project? I see that the other one that was going to be developed was abandoned, so hopefully this one is still in the works. I really like the one for PHPBB2, and hope this one works just as well, if not better!

Thanks again
KidneyBoy

Hi Barry!

Thanks for taking on this project. Looking forward to it!

I have a couple of suggestions/wishlist items that maybe you can comment on.

I'd like to be able to have the option to moderate either the RSS feeds for approval and the forum posts for approval. In other words, whether I specify an RSS feed or a forum to tag as news, I would like to, on a case by case basis, select whether this news source can auto-post or if it requires mod queue attention. Think that would be possible?

Also, there is another mod in development to turn news items into their own dynamic HTML page http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 0&t=589821 - Do you think you might consider integrating this with yours? That way, I can tag forums and RSS feeds as news sources, some autopost to the news.html in the other mod, and others I have to approve manually, which will then publish to the news.html page.

Thanks again!
