Maybe I missed something. But what is the advantage when you have the sig's in a frame?

Users can still have their big signatures, without messing with the board layout.

My users like to have huge images, and I'm tired of editing and asking them to remove, and I dont want to punish the ones that do follow the rules and remove all signs =)

Ok, this mods makes an iframe with scrollbars when it's bigger than it should, right? or am I getting it wrong?

I've installed it, but it just shows a black border around the signatures
I'm using template NDesign v2 and I've switched to prosilver but it doesnt do anything at all there (just shows the word Signature on top of sigs, but no frames)

(I didt clean the cache)

Hmm
I thought it'd show an iframe like (with scrollbars) like I've seen on some vBulletin boards

Thanks anyway =*

Well you can create a group with violaters and set the "Can use signature" option to never for this group :P.

But then I'd have to go adding them into the groups, and would be the same as me deleting their signatures

A scroll-able (is that a word) signature would be the solution. Those who follow the rule will have it normally, and those with it bigger than the set size, would have it with a scrollbar =)

Is it possible to modify the mod to use a custom profile field instead of the database signature content easily?

I would like the users to be able to keep the "normal" long signatures at the bottom but still have an additional field for a witty comment / description /quote under the avatar.

How would I have to change the mod to read out the custom field?

It won't be, frame's aren't supported in xhtml, or you need to change the doctype of the board.

Actually there is no need to use frames. An ordinary border is better.

This is what I use at my Board:

Code: Select all

<!-- IF postrow.SIGNATURE -->
						<div style="height: 100px; overflow: hidden; border-top: 1px solid #999999;"><span class="postbody">{postrow.SIGNATURE}</span></div>
					<!-- ENDIF -->
It shows a border over the signature and the signature is only 100px in heigt.
If You want it to be scrollable just replace overflow: hidden; with overflow: auto;
Then there will be a scrollbar.

If You want borders all around the signature then replace: border-top: with border:
That should validate just fine.
I am done with phpBB
