Thanks man :D

Little FYI... You forgot a semi-colon at the end of line 128 in includes/functions_linked_acct.php

Also, in the UCP, { NO_LINKED_ACCTS } is not defined in the language file, show it just shows up as that.

Edit: Language problem is a typo. It is as above in the template but it is NO_LINKED_ACCOUNTS in the lang file.

And a final thing. I noticed there was a lang for an incorrect master password, but I didn't get the error, it appeared as if the page refreshed.

Thanks iamgregg, for the first part but I don't know how to change the language file. And also, Drakkim, I can't view the install xml file. It is just opens like an html document and it is a bit confusing. I also am receiving some SQL errors when I entered the SQL in. Is there a possible way I could install them manually, if so how?

I getting the same thing. It's like the archive got corrupted. I couldn't view the mod instructions until I copy pasted them with a text editor, and the only SQL line is
ALTER TABLE 'phpbb_users' ADD 'master_id' MEDIUMINT( 8 ) UNSIGNED DEFAULT '0';
which gives an error when i try to execute it in phpmyadmin.

The problem is single quotes when defining table and field names. Remove them and it will work.

The problem with the install file not showing is the xml stylesheet. It appears to be out of date or incorrect as it works when replaced with a file from another mod.

For the language file....

OPEN root\language\en\mods\linked_acct.php

FIND

Code: Select all

'NO_LINKED_ACCOUNTS'	=> 'No accounts are linked to this one',
REPLACE WITH

Code: Select all

'NO_LINKED_ACCTS' => 'No accounts are linked to this one',
I guess it can be done the other way around by editing templates, but this way you only edit one file instead of several (one for each template).

I suggest you make these changes in your mod, Drakkim.

Okay I installed it with the single quotes taken out of the SQL and the semicolon added in functions_linked_acct but there was no module showing in the UCP until I went into my admin panel and manually added that module to the control panel and activated it.

Now the module shows in the UCP but when I attempt to link accounts nothing happens. The page just refreshes. :( Using RC7 btw.

Edit: It was me. I didn't realize usernames were case sensitive. :oops:

Edit Edit: IT LIVES! Thank you both, drakkim and gregg. My roleplaying friends would hug you if they could.

So would this be the correct one?

ALTER TABLE 'phpbb_users' ADD master_id MEDIUMINT( 8 ) UNSIGNED DEFAULT '0';

No, you want:

ALTER TABLE phpbb_users ADD master_id MEDIUMINT( 8 ) UNSIGNED DEFAULT '0';

If it's wrong phpmyadmin will warn you though.

New version released:

11/27/06 Version 0.5.4
  • updated forms to use $phpbb_root_path instead of assuming a path of './' (broke one of my own wrapper)
  • Corrected a couple typos in the code (Thanks iamgregg)
  • Change Account Switch Form to use a template. (TheMiNd)

I'm pretty sure I could make it case insensitive with very little work... Would that be appreciated?

Oops! NOW the new version is available. Sorry about that... I still had my computer 'captive' and uploaded it to my test site, not the real one...

If ignoring case for the usernames isn't much work I think it might avoid some confusion with users, but it's not a big deal. I edited the template to put (CASE SENSITIVE) in big letters.

One of my users has an apostrophe ' in his username and says he can't link accounts with that one. That didn't surprise me, since so much code needs apostrophes reserved.

Does the new version work with rc8? I updated and installed it, and it works in the CP but doesn't show the dropdown list on the forum index where it was before. :\ Is it me?

Edit: It works if I copy paste the code from linked_acct_form.html into my index page.
