how about adding an option to install mods that previously have been uploaded to a specified folder? for people who are experiencing problems with extracting zip files... the content of that folder could be deleted after the installation was successful.

As per "KernelPanic"... I'm pretty certain there is an issue with where the PHPkg is installed relative to phpBB. Seeing "/../" in the directory structure makes me wonder. I will give it another go as soon as I get phpBB.3.0.0 installed over the next couple days, by including the following to exactly point to the file, and see what I can learn. It would probably normally be faster just to do it, than write about it... but, not this week.

// Find the precise file location for the system
$uri = rtrim($_SERVER['PHP_SELF'], "/\\");

Also, I was in touch with the author of PHPkg, and he said that he was most definitely interested in continuing the development, except that he was very busy until Christmas was over. I can't blame him really.... because, thats precisely what I have been telling people too.

Good news.

Excellent MOD. Trying it out now.

There are a few language strings which have not been applied correctly in the ACP :)

Also I installed the Clickable forums mod, and it installed, but only half. The modification is not shown on the Browse list to remove.. some problems to iron out :)

EDIT - You need to hve something that skips steps it can't do, so then the modification installs but you have to sort out the other steps, would be better :)

Where exactly do you upload the files to
and how do you enable them?

Hello all! :)

I was away for a long time, but now it is the time to continue the work. I've placed the project where everyone can watch and track it:

http://sourceforge.net/projects/phpkg/

You can submit bugs as well as feature requests directly there. You can download the dev3 version. You will be able to browse CVS as soon as SF.net team imports my CVS branches. :)

I will try to release dev4 ASAP, but I can't guarantee anything.

I installed this and couldn't use it (I got the same error others did when trying to upload, and yes my server has PHP5) and when I tried to delete it, it won't let me delete the phpkg folder in the cache folder. In fact, I want to delete the whole forum as I was just testing out phpbb3 and didn't like it, and I can't because it won't delete the cache folder.

Hello,

I have this error when I want to clic on the link in ACP:

Code: Select all

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in /home.48/l/m/s/lmsstl/www/pkg/bb3phpkg.php on line 27
It pretty strange beacause I have php4 & php5 installed on my server.

Have you any idea or solution ?

Thanks.

I Uploaded all files from "root" folder to my public_html folder. (Because i have installed it on a sub-domain it went in the sub-domain folder.)

I went to http://sub.my-domain.ext/adm/index.php and Authenticated my self.
I then clicked "System".
I then clicked "Administration Control Panel" Under "Module Managment".
I scrolled down to "ACP_PHPGK" and added it.
I Enabled "ACP_PHPGK".
I then had a "ACP_PHPKG" link up the top next to "System" but i have not got the "ftp configuration" link under "Check For Updates" in "System".
I clicked "ACP_PHPGK" and updated the Repositories. I clicked "Packages" and tried to install one but i get the Message above.

Can anyone help me please.

*EDIT* = The ./../ only brings it back one folder from the pkg folder. In other words it brings it back to the phpbb3 root folder. Completely fine

I apologize in advance if this has already been answered.

I have the file, but there's no instructions on what to do save to upload the included files in the root directory. After doing this what the HECK am I supposed to do next?

Thank you.
