You are right, you should not use it on a live board. But beta purpose it to have it tested on as many configurations as it is possible to have Gold version fully compatible. :) So I encourage anyone interested to install it on his local test board and give me some feedback.

I would be happy to have this translated, although not until some RC version, because language entries are still being changed.

I have a silly question -- but I can't figure it out for the life of me! This is an awesome mod that I've been looking for, finally found, and now unfortunately am unable to finish installing!

The installation only called for me to copy all of the included files into the appropriate folders, yet what will get the phPKG into the ACP? Thanks in advance

You have to add phPKG module. Go to ACP  “SYSTEM” tab  Module management  Administration Control Panel. Then add phPKG (ACP_PHPKG) to desired page (I think that it best fits into SYSTEM/AUTOMATION). Then you will have to enable it (by clicking “Enable” ;) ). It's all.

Yes. In upcoming version (dev3) there is option to install MODs not only from repository, but also from local FTP storage or even uploaded within ACP (as TGZ or ZIP package). :)

Thanks for the help! Although it turns out GoDaddy (I suppose) does not support php5. I added the line in .htaccess (it can go anywhere right? I put it at the end)

EDIT: By 'the line' i mean what was said in an earlier post:

Code: Select all

AddHandler application/x-httpd-php5 php

I get this error message after clicking it in the ACP:

Code: Select all

Does anyone know of anything I can do? Or am I SOL

Thanks again for the support, this mod sounds awesome.

I've just released dev3 version. It fixes SQL issue (I hope - please test it) and introduces new feature: installation of any uploaded MOD file. There is number of hacks to install uploaded MODs, but it will fail if installation instruction is wrong. In such case, you have to fix .xml file by hand, or tell the MOD author about those bugs. You should encourage MOD authors to test their MODs using this tool. :) Try it out, I hope it's OK.

Links are in first post.

Thanks for the release! I just re-installed with dev3 and am getting this error when i click on the phpPKG link in the system->acp:

Code: Select all

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or '}' in [my websites directory]/pkg/bb3phpkg.php on line 27
I did purge all cache and re-tried, but no such luck.

I also realized I am only on phpBB RC3 so I will update that and edit this post if this was the cause of my problem -- just giving you a heads up though :)

It means that you are using PHP4. Try with second .htaccess entry (AddType) or switch something in your DirectAdmin or whatever are you using. ;)

Those are another entries that I've found in google. Maybe one of them will work?

Code: Select all

AddHandler x-httpd-php5 .php
or even

Code: Select all

AddHandler x-httpd-php5 .php
AddHandler x-httpd-php .php4

Dabroz you rock!

I also found that google page upon searching and when I came back here you had it said and done, very good! :D

That fixed my problem with goDaddy, it now appears to be working and I will find some mods to test out!

thanks again!
