Are you planning on making this work with php<5 ?
I think that there are a lot of people with 4.x.x versions...
I see no point in porting it to php4, as it will make code less readable and requires rewrite of SimpleXML, which is used here (it works only with php5) ( http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 2#p3172482 ).

It is a waste of time, if this will be done, it would delay the release of phPKG a lot. And i want more new features, not a pointless backwards porting :D .

On localhost, it is very simple to install php5, and on live server too, if it is your server. If it is hoster's server, all hosters i know provide php5 as option and can easily change your php version for free.

But if it will be needed by many people, i think someone of them might do a php4-fork of phPKG.
I can't say that you are wrong, but have you consider the chance that something else will stop working after upgrading to php5??
Since I have the opinion not to mess with something which already works, I'm not willing to make so big experiments..
So the simple result is that I can't have this mod installed.. If it can be ported to php4 then I will use it, if not then I just won't. It's just that simple..
Anyway, the fact that I can not use it does not reduce the value of Dabroz's effort in making this MOD...
Well done Dabroz !!! ;)

phpBB3 all versions and all mods available are compatible with php5. I have done a simple update on my server while I had phpBB3 installed, and everything still works. Don't know if you also have the same option on your hosting provider, but I can also choose to deactivate it, if I am not happy. So why don't you try? It does no harm to phpBB3 whatsoever.

If they can offer the option to deactivate php5, it will be great !!!
Thanks for this tip JBosman !!!
I'll ask them!!!

About phpbb : Yes, all phpbb3 mods work with php5 but my live forum is still in phpbb2.0.22 (still waiting for some mods which are not completed yet to migrate)

If I only had Olympus, I would be brave enough to try, but my phpbb2.0.22 forum is heavily modded and I'm not sure if all mods are going to function properly after an upgrade to v 5 of php... ;)

i get this error whenever i press the arrow UP or DOWN, which should naviagate the keyboard to the code boxes. but they aren't even showing...:

I have tried it on three different PCs, both IE6 and IE7 and firefox.
i cant even get this far.. so im kinda stumped until someone can shed some light.

Those are the best mods, that don't use edits but their own files. Easy to understand, and less problems expecting with integrating with an existing forum. Well done! I hope the phpBB team will acknowledge your mod to their database. Especially when you have made it possible to upload our own mods.

I promise that I will squash any person that will post that error without reading my notes in the first post with my twisted-minded cat!

And for those interested in the MOD: thanks! It's now maturing. :) Many fixes has been implemented and with “almost final” method of MODs removal I will post dev4, still working on other features.

If you are planning on making an auto-update option, please make it so, that you can also disable it :P . I hate automatic updating as it always contains new errors that I first want to check out before installing onto a live forum.

(Please forgive me if this question was asked already...)

Is phPKG compatible with phpBB2? (I presume not, but I hope it does not hurt to ask.)
