Installed Search Back mod yesterday on phpBB 3.0.3 - works fine, especially after some manual edit :) Thanks author.

Hi Guys,

this Mod is nice! ...But I want to change it a little bit for my website.

I don't want to have a "form" shown in the overall header, but links that have the same function as the options. For each option I want to creat a hyperlink!

For example:
30 minutes = http://www.forum.whatever/search.php?searchback[I_do_not_know_what_comes here]
1 hour = http://www.forum.whatever/search.php?searchback[I_do_not_know_what_comes here]
6 hours= http://www.forum.whatever/search.php?searchback[I_do_not_know_what_comes here]

Can someone help me??? :?

Greetings from Berlin

Hello from Stuttgart to Berlin,

You can easily use

Code: Select all

http://www.yourforum.com/search.php?search_time=60&search_id=searchback
for your search "60" being the minutes.

Regards,
Bálint

Thx very much!

This solved my problem! I integrated searchback now "with link" into my JS-Menu. :D

After updating from phpBB 3.0.5 to 3.0.6 this mod doesn't work anymore in my forums. Does anyone know why?

How would I integrate this into the subSilver2 template? There is no theme/forms.css to modify and the index_body does not have this line to modify:

<li><a href="{U_SEARCH_UNANSWERED}">{L_SEARCH_UNANSWERED}</a><!-- IF S_USER_LOGGED_IN --> &bull; <a href="{U_SEARCH_NEW}">{L_SEARCH_NEW}</a><!-- ENDIF --> &bull; <a href="{U_SEARCH_ACTIVE_TOPICS}">{L_SEARCH_ACTIVE_TOPICS}</a></li>

You can add the changes to subsilver2/theme/stylesheet.css instead. E.g. after the last definition

Code: Select all

.username-coloured {
	font-weight: bold;
}

But where is the "search" function located? I cannot find it in the index_body file.

Okay, I found the code in the overall_header.

So I modified this:

Code: Select all

<!-- IF S_DISPLAY_SEARCH -->
	<p class="searchbar">
		<span style="float: {S_CONTENT_FLOW_BEGIN};"><a href="{U_SEARCH_UNANSWERED}">{L_SEARCH_UNANSWERED}</a> | <a href="{U_SEARCH_ACTIVE_TOPICS}">{L_SEARCH_ACTIVE_TOPICS}</a> </span>
		<!-- IF S_USER_LOGGED_IN -->
		<span style="float: {S_CONTENT_FLOW_END};"><a href="{U_SEARCH_UNREAD}">{L_SEARCH_UNREAD}</a> | <a href="{U_SEARCH_NEW}">{L_SEARCH_NEW}</a> | <a href="{U_SEARCH_SELF}">{L_SEARCH_SELF}</a></span>
		<!-- ENDIF -->
To this:

Code: Select all

<!-- IF S_DISPLAY_SEARCH -->
	<p class="searchbar">
		<span style="float: {S_CONTENT_FLOW_BEGIN};"><a href="{U_SEARCH_UNANSWERED}">{L_SEARCH_UNANSWERED}</a> | <a href="{U_SEARCH_ACTIVE_TOPICS}">{L_SEARCH_ACTIVE_TOPICS}</a>
    <form id="searchback" class="searchback" method="post" action="{S_SEARCH_ACTION}" onsubmit="if(document.jumpbox.f.value == -1){return false;}">
				<fieldset class="searchback">
					<select name="search_time" size="1" onchange="if(this.options[this.selectedIndex].value != -1){document.forms['searchback'].submit()}">
						<option value="-1" selected="selected">{L_SEARCH_BACK}</option>
						<option value="15">{L_TIME_15_MIN}</option>
						<option value="30">{L_TIME_30_MIN}</option>
						<option value="45">{L_TIME_45_MIN}</option>
						<option value="60">{L_TIME_1_HOUR}</option>
						<option value="120">{L_TIME_2_HOUR}</option>
						<option value="360">{L_TIME_6_HOUR}</option>
						<option value="720">{L_TIME_12_HOUR}</option>
						<option value="1440">{L_TIME_1_DAY}</option>
						<option value="10080">{L_TIME_7_DAYS}</option>
						<option value="40320">{L_TIME_1_MONTH}</option>
					</select>
					<input type="hidden" name="search_id" value="searchback" />
				</fieldset>
			</form> &bull;
    </span>
		<!-- IF S_USER_LOGGED_IN -->
		<span style="float: {S_CONTENT_FLOW_END};"><a href="{U_SEARCH_UNREAD}">{L_SEARCH_UNREAD}</a> | <a href="{U_SEARCH_NEW}">{L_SEARCH_NEW}</a> | <a href="{U_SEARCH_SELF}">{L_SEARCH_SELF}</a></span>
		<!-- ENDIF -->
...which seems to have worked okay, but leaves a black box around the area. Is this a function of the <form></form>?

If this is an unmodified subSilver2, you could add

Code: Select all

form.searchback {border: 0 !important}
to the end of your stylesheet.css. If this doesn't work, a link to your forum would be appreciated.

Sorry, I fixed it. I did not have it all the way to the end of the stylesheet.css and that made a difference for some reason. Thanks for your help!

Now I have to work on why the "Who Was Here" mod is not working on the subSilver2 style.

This is such a GREAT MOD, it really needs to be included in the Mainline.

Anyway, will this run on phpBB 3.0.6 ?

And is this the latest version of the SearchBack MOD?:
MOD Version: 1.0.3
phpBB Version: 3.0.0-3.0.2

Thanks!
