Re: [BETA] Ultimate Quiz MOD v2.0.0 (Beta 2 released Dec 29, 09)

Oh, I see
The database collation was latin1_swedish_ci so when I execute sql edits the new tables are on the same collation. That was the reason for the error. When I changed the collation to utf-8 bin it is OK.

But I receive another error after editing the test. All my edits for questions and answers transforms to "?????????? ????????"

Also when I took a test after final submitting I receive message:
"This quiz was neither saved nor submitted"

After that when I try to reopen the test again I receive:

Code: Select all

You are seeing this error because one of several events might have occurred:
- A cheating attempt may have been detected. You cannot leave a quiz and later re-enter it without going through the save process.
- You have tried to resubmit a quiz that you have exceeded the time limit on
- You have already played this quiz, and the admin does not allow multiple attempts

Ah, good find sotis. I hadn't updated quiz_cp.php with the utf8 code. Thanks :)
Will put that on the list for beta 3.

I guess when you got the error "This quiz was neither saved nor submitted" it is because you exceeded the time limit. The reason for the cheating attempt is because a user then knows what the questions are, so can complete the quiz very quickly (which is unfair). So this guards against cheating.

Thanks, the notices shouldn't be appearing in Beta 3 (soon to be released).

Where are you having utf8 trouble? quiz_cp.php is the only place I am aware of it not working, unless your database tables are in the wrong collation.

Could you paste the words that you are entering at Step 2 -> 3 that is not being processed correctly in utf8? I will test it on my installation to see if I can get the problem too.
great mod good work
Thanks :)

Ran into a problem after installing...

I see this in the top of my screen when visiting quiz.php

Code: Select all

[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /includes/functions.php on line 3877: Undefined index: HIDDEN_USERS_TOTAL_AND
[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /includes/functions.php on line 4273: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /includes/functions.php:3505)
[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /includes/functions.php on line 4275: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /includes/functions.php:3505)
[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /includes/functions.php on line 4276: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /includes/functions.php:3505)
[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /includes/functions.php on line 4277: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /includes/functions.php:3505)
Also, is it possible to remove quizzies as admin or do I have to go into phpmyadmin to remove them?

And can I move quiz categories up and down to sort them?

One more thing - it seems as if å, ä, ö are not displayed correctly.

azzurri, have you definitely downloaded the beta 3 package? It is downloadable from here: http://cmxmods.net/downloads/Ultimate%2 ... beta3b.zip (I only ask this because UTF8 problems only seemed to happen in Beta 1 and Beta 2).

It looks like all of those errors might have been caused by a mistake when editing the files. Maybe a mistake editing functions.php?
Also, is it possible to remove quizzies as admin or do I have to go into phpmyadmin to remove them?
Yes, on the quiz index there is a link called "Quiz Control Panel". On this page you have the option to delete, move and edit quizzes :)
One more thing - it seems as if å, ä, ö are not displayed correctly.
As I said, the reports so far have been good with regards to UTF8 characters in Beta 3. So if doing what I mentioned above doesn't fix this, I'll have to look into it some more.

Yes I downloaded from your site but I tried your link too and still same problem. I checked and double checked functions.php. I did all the correct changes, I am 100% sure.

I'll have to wait with the UTF error until I fix the first problem. I havent really been able to try the mod out because of the header debug warnings.

*EDIT* even if I remove all changes to constant.php and functions.php the warnings are still there so I don't think the editing is the problem.

Can you post lines 4273 and 3505 of functions.php? I am interested to see where in the code this error relates to for you.

Thanks
