michaelo wrote:Just installed the gallery mod with my portal (stargate portal) and for the most part everything works fine with one exception...

The main gallery sets the template body to:

Code: Select all

$template->set_filenames(array(
	'body' => 'gallery/index_body.html')
);
In effect any other code on the page that uses images from the root/images/xxx folder will be modified to root/gallery/images/xxx ... Obviously these images will not display...
I'm not sure whether I get this? I have no problem with images showing up. How do you embed them when they don't appear
michaelo wrote:Note: This edit may be missing from colours.css

Code: Select all

.icon-gallery					{ background-image: url("{T_THEME_PATH}/images/icon_gallery.gif"); }
in the galelry.css we have

Code: Select all

.gallery-icon, .gallery-icon a		{ background: none top left no-repeat; }
ul.profile-icons li.gallery-icon	{ width: 20px; height: 20px; }
.gallery-icon, .gallery-icon a		{ background-image: url("{T_IMAGESET_PATH}/icon_contact_gallery.gif"); }
Seems correct for me

CSS
The edit to the overall_header for the image was:

Code: Select all

<li class="icon-gallery"><a href="{U_GALLERY_MOD}" title="{L_GALLERY_EXPLAIN}">{L_GALLERY}</a></li>
The css tag added being: icon-gallery, the css tag in the gallery.css is gallery-icon (reversed) ?

Re the images... As an example in the footer I have two images (located in ./images/banners)... When I load the gallery page via the default: gallery/index.php, the images are not displayed...

The template engine or whatever parses images appears to parse images in relation to the current path i.e. ./gallery (all image paths are set to: gallery/images/folder) and not root (root/images/folder). The only solution I could come up with was to copy the gallery/index.php file to gallery.php and put it in the root, then change the path to index.php for all gallery files to gallery.php in the root... now all images are correct and the gallery mod is working fine... :?

There must be something I have not copped on to...

Will this mod work with the Prosilver SE style?

Hello guys,

I tried to combine the portal and the gallery. At first I copied the index.php to the root and renamed it to gallery.php

this is mycode

Code: Select all

define('IN_PHPBB', true);
$phpbb_root_path = (defined('PHPBB_ROOT_PATH')) ? PHPBB_ROOT_PATH : './';
$gallery_root_path = 'gallery/';
$phpEx = substr(strrchr(__FILE__, '.'), 1);
include($phpbb_root_path . $gallery_root_path . 'includes/root_path.' . $phpEx);
$phpbb_root_path = (defined('PHPBB_ROOT_PATH')) ? PHPBB_ROOT_PATH : './';

include($phpbb_root_path . 'common.' . $phpEx);
include($phpbb_root_path . 'includes/functions_display.' . $phpEx);
include($phpbb_root_path . 'includes/message_parser.' . $phpEx);
this part change the php_root_path values to the suitable path.
now my question. how can i integrate the blocks of the portal? i tried this

Code: Select all

// Stargate Portal
if(STARGATE)
{
	global $k_config, $k_blocks;

	$user->setup('portal/portal');
	$user->add_lang('portal/portal');

	include_once($phpbb_root_path . 'includes/sgp_functions.'. $phpEx );
	include_once($phpbb_root_path . 'includes/functions_display.'. $phpEx );

	if($k_config['display_blocks_global'])
	{
		include_once($phpbb_root_path . 'includes/portal_blocks.' . $phpEx);
	}
}
// Stargate Portal

but i get errors like this
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare recent_gallery_images()

any suggestions for me ?

thx in advance

bronco, best to discuss that at the portal dev site...
I still need to confirm there is no other method to resolve the images path problem without resorting to adding the gallery.php file and additional edits... I will post at the site as soon as it is resolved... Mike

That's not because of the template path, but the root path.
When there are images missing, that's a fail from the style-author. fixing is quite easy: http://www.flying-bits.org/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=269 So in templates you should use {ROOT_PATH} and in php-files $phpbb_root_path than everything should be okay.

Thanks all for the hlep :!:

I had originally installed the mod and due to a couple problems restored my old files. I've since installed the mod a second time with no issues, but I've got two gallery tabs in the user CP. Any thoughts on how I could remove one of the tabs?

Can't attach an image but its the gallery tab that has:

Thanks Nick... I've created and ported hundreds of themes but it's been so long since, I forgot about {ROOT_PATH}... *personal reminder... smack oneself in the head* ;)

Hi Nick, on the thumbnail pages, the pics are all different sizes, is it possible to set the height and width so each thumbnail is the same, i'm using the highslide plugin.
Cheers

you mean through the different width-to-height ratios?

The wide varity of fuctions are wonderful!

I want to add a request for this mod that I think would please many - the posibility of tagging members in photos (like on facebook, flickr and myspace)!

There are various premade easy css scripts that can be used, such as:
http://www.fotonotes.net/
http://www.frankmanno.com/ideas/css-imagemap/
http://www.cssplay.co.uk/menu/imap.html
http://www.cssplay.co.uk/articles/imagemap/index.html
http://www.markinns.com/articles/full/f ... image_map/

For the php code part, I have no idea how to structure it, but it would be awesome with a feature like this!
Mabye it could be a plugin for the gallery.

// Best regars
André
BUMP! Anyone that have the knowledge on how to create this for the gallery?
