The issue is in the confusion between subsilver and prosilver.
The instructions do not say you have to follow all the steps in the prosilver installation and replace with subsilver when needed.

In other words, the subsilver instructions are not complete. It does not tell you to edit the root files, etc.
Therefore I followed BOTH instructions, then ran the install again.

Two things that still confuse me
1. I cannot get the images to show up on the index page (subsilver). I think it has something to do with my CSS menu. I'll work on that later.
2. I don't understand the album creation in ACP ??. Albums are created in the UCP. Seems kind of unnecessary. Maybe I just don't understand it yet.
Also, if you don't make an album in the ACP, when you go to the gallery, it says there are no albums (which is not true) and then you must click a little tiny link to get to the users galleries. Just a strange layout that's all.

You may check than, whether this happens on png-uploaded images, gif-uploaded images or jpg-uplaoded images
For me its jpg files. It works on my server tough, but I get the blank page on my local copy running on xampp. Server has MySQL 5.0.45-log and PHP Version 4.4.8, local xampp has MySQL 5.0.45-community-nt and PHP Version 4.4.7, if this helps.

Thanks for that tip Wolfman, it worked for me.

I am running PHP 5.2.6 and I must not have the EXIF extension enabled. It was happening to all 3 file types.

Can someone explain the purpose of the ACP gallery?
Is this just a general gallery for people that don't want to create their own but still post a few pics?

Oh, and in permissions, can someone explain the "never" permissions.
I understand "yes" , "no", but The "never" has me stumped.

Thanks for the replies.
One more question.
--
When a person goes to the gallery pages, and they are not a member (or signed in), it says there are no galleries to display. This gives the perception that the board is inactive and noone has posted pictures. Therefore no incentive for them to sign up.

Is there a way the put a message in the header that says something like "To view gallery, you must be registered or signed in"

Thanks for your work!

I'm not sure I understand what you want me to change.
When an unregistered person goes to the gallery page
This displays.
"This gallery doesn't have any albums"
It should say "You must be logged in to view gallery"
I can change that, thanks.

My question is, will this change if there is no public album and a registered user is logged in.
In other words, you MUST have a public gallery for this to work correctly!

I change just one line and got this message at the top of the screen

[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /includes/functions.php on line 3556: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /language/en/mods/gallery.php:1)

EDIT: Fixed, Don't use notepad to edit PHP files :o

I found a typo.

When you edit a folder, it displays this message

"You can edit you albums here."

What file do I edit to put the "r" in "your"?

This message is in language/en/mods/info_ucp_gallery.php
My mods in MODDB:

If you need support click on the support tab there and post your question.
Do not PM me - chances of viewing my PMs are way thinner than viewing the support question in the customization DB...
