I'm really not sure why it doesn't show up - it runs perfectly fine on my test board :(
No I cannot give an admin access 'cause that's online page. Try to install package from first post on your test forum.

Ok, i've tracked the problem down - I've not correctly set up the permissions yet.
For a quick fix:
Open includes/acp/info/acp_redbar.php
FIND:

Code: Select all

				'redbar'		=> array('title' => 'ACP_REDBAR', 'auth' => 'acl_a_redbar', 'cat' => array('ACP_CAT_USERS')),
REPLACE WITH:

Code: Select all

				'redbar'		=> array('title' => 'ACP_REDBAR', 'auth' => 'acl_a_ranks', 'cat' => array('ACP_CAT_USERS')),
I'll post an update shortly :)

I still do not see the module in ACP after this changes. Maybe anything else?

Remove the module completely and re-add it

I'm about to release v0.0.3 to address some of these bugs.
I don't have an upgrade script - was tracking the changes.
Still got to test it, so I'll update once it's complete.
Upside of the new version, is that it's properly permissions manageable - so you can choose who you want to be able to add/edit/delete links (combined though, not separately) :)

When I add link, I have got "You haven\'t specified a URL for the link.".

Code: Select all

Name Link: Test
Link URL: http://test.com/
What do you think about this?

And this is your mistake about trouble with adding module in the ACP:
Navigate to:
Administration Control Panel > System > Module Management :: Administration Control Panel
Right:
Navigate to:
Administration Control Panel > System > Module Management :: Administration Control Panel > Modules

0.0.3 will fix the "You haven\'t specified a URL for the link." error.
Navigate to:
Administration Control Panel > System > Module Management :: Administration Control Panel > Modules
I don't see much difference to be honest - when you click 'Administration Control Panel' under 'Module Management', it shows you the list of modules with the Add module box at the bottom ;)

0.0.3 now release - 1st updated with download link.
As 'Founder', you will automatically have permission to access this module.
If you want to enable it for other admins/users/moderators, this is what you do:

Go to your ACP -> Users & Groups -> User's Permissions / Groups Permissions -> Select User/Group
Change select type dropdown to Admin Permissions & click go -> Advanced Permissions -> Misc
Look for 'Can manage RedBar Links' :)

You can give groups, users, moderators, even regular users this permission.
But note that whoever has access to this module, has the ability to add, edit and delete all links.

I'm looking forward to a more mature version of this. I have two subsilver-based styles and two prosilver-based, so this mod isn't ready yet for my forum. But I like the look of it and will keep checking back for the full version that supports SS2.

I tried the dropdown nav:
http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 5#p4420655

but it uses massive "Replace with" that is incompatible with my heavily-modded board, so this mod is my last hope.

Re: [BETA] RedBar³ 0.0.4

Post by stickerboy »

Ok 0.0.4 is now released - I've tested this as thoroughly as I can on my local and live test boards.
Custom link colours feature has now been added.
Demo and updated download can be found in the 1st post.

To upgrade from 0.0.3:
Uninstall 0.0.3 and follow instructions for 0.0.4.

An undocumented change from the last version:
I've changed the code in overall_header/footer.html so that it won't show a bullet point on the last link of the row.
I've also removed the bullet point from the start of the row to make it look a bit cleaner.

*edit*
Last little note - if you find any bugs, please submit to the BugTracker link in the 1st post.
Thanks ;)
