This is more a PHP/SQL question about this part of the code:

Code: Select all

SELECT distinct(p.topic_id) , p.forum_id, p.post_time, p.post_subject, p.post_text, p.bbcode_bitfield, p.bbcode_uid, u.user_id, u.user_email, u.username, u.user_allow_viewemail....
What does the prefix p. or u. do in this piece of code?
I understand it will select from a table, e.g. "forum_id", but what does "p.forum_id" mean?

Yes and f = forum.
I still don't see what it adds to the code or what the result is.
Will "username" be added to a string (or forum or post or topic), or what?

[EDIT]
u, f, t and p are substitutes for the table names, retrieved from the phpBB constants.

I have a few questions:
1. Is there a way to remove the icon for the post (i.e. whether it is read or not)? Is there a way to make it smaller or move it?

2. Can I make the text for the poster, etc. smaller (i.e. the same size as the post itself)?

3. Can I add a line between the poster and the post?

Thanks in advance!

Here's what it looks like ATM:

We just found this out the hard way - our entire account was offline for 7 hours yesterday because this script was causing the whole server to slow down dramatically!

I had kept my eyes open for a new version anyway, but here's where I'm getting confused:
Installed version:

* @version $Id: rssforum.php,v 1.9.1 2008/04/24 1:02:31 joerobe Exp $

Version from download link

* @version $Id: rssforum.php,v 1.2.3 2008-06-22 13:48 joerobe Exp $

I just noticed that the date on the later version is earlier, if that makes sense! So, which IS the correct version?!? And does the lower-numbered-but-later-dated revision fix the database crashing issue?
