Session variables inside templates?

Post by ecwpa » Thu Mar 12, 2009 4:58 am

The idea is to pull the username and avatar from the user session to put it on one side of the quick reply box, hoping it would look more personal and encouraging people to post a reply with that.

But i don't want to use pure php inside the template, since people here suggest to avoid it.

So, the question is: there is a way to user session variables inside templates without using php?

It depends which ones you want. Things like avatar are however not included. You can look at the $template->assign_vars() call in includes/functions.php within the page_header() function.
