Submit input forms as posts?

Post by sackbot14 » Sat Dec 10, 2011 2:09 am

Hello.. I was wondering if it is possible to submit HTML Forms as a post?

Basically, there is an html form, and I would make a "robot" user (like the MOD Robot), that when a user clicks the "Submit" button on the form, the robot makes either a new post or a new topic in a designated forum/topic.

This is because my forum is based on a video game where you make games/levels, so I would like a submit and spotlight level feature. I think that if I can submit the form entries as topics/posts in a subforum only judge-group members could view, is easier than sending the form to an email address.

So.... what do you think this phpBB posting page is, if not an HTML form?

Peruse this topic: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 1&t=574199

Its a quite long topic, but there is almost certainly code example for what you need.

I am not sure what to do with the topic you linked to me. :/ There isn't really a tutorial or anything..

Have a look at this, can be easily adapted to do exactly what you want:-

You asked if it was possible to have an HTML Form submit a post, and I was telling you that you were already using an HTML Form to submit your post, so it certainly is possible.

Those other topics you were linked to are telling you how to construct a proper action target for your form. You would not be able to use the standard phpBB posting.php as an action because it requires a proper form_token, which you would not be able to build.
