can't you just use permissions?

Dear Jessica

I agree with you, but I dont want it to show on the forum also. When you open any forum, there is a column for Reply's and View. That column also I want to remove.

Any Suggestion.

Removing the reply button is a permissions question. Simply remove your users permissions for replying.

Removing the Replies and Views column from your viewforum page is a completely different question. You would do that by editing your style's template.

Neither of these questions is a Mod Writers question.

Dear BRF
I assign the permission to NEVER for reply to guest in the forum. Even then also when the guest browse the forum he'll see the post reply button. If he click's on that it will takes him to login page and after login there is a text that you cannot reply in this forum.

Anyhow he cannot able to reply even after login then why there is a Post Reply button: ?

That's default behaviour, all mine do that for guests as well.
But if you set the permissions correctly for Newly Registered and Registered users then when they log in that button will be disabled and they wont be able to post replies.

When a guest is not logged in, phpBB does not know who it is. It could be You, or a moderator, who has permission to reply. Once you click the reply button and login, you would be taken directly to the reply posting page.
