Different date() syntax for poster joined date

How might I go about changing the date syntax for the join date of each poster on topic view only to disregard any user or board preferances and display the date in "M j, Y" syntax instead?

So for example, it would say that I joined Jul 26, 2006 on this page, but if you viewed it anywhere else, such as in my profile it would still display as normal?

[OPEN]
viewtopic.php
[FIND]

Code: Select all

				'joined'		=> $user->format_date($row['user_regdate']),
[REPLACE WITH]

Code: Select all

				//replaced by m157y's tip for change joined date format
				//'joined'		=> $user->format_date($row['user_regdate']),
				'joined'		=> $user->format_date($row['user_regdate'], 'M j, Y', true),
