What I did ->

Download the files which you will need for the player to be played. Create a folder in your root and call it 'player'. Upload the downloaded files to that folder, your folder now contains the next files:
  • player.swf
  • swfobject.js
  • video.flv
Now you create a folder called 'mp3' within that 'player-folder', and upload some mp3's to it. Also create a file called 'playlist.xml', and upload it to the 'mp3-folder'. The code of the xml-file should look like this:

Code: Select all

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <playlist version="1" xmlns="http://xspf.org/ns/0/">
       <trackList>

          <track>
             <title>Title1</title>
             <creator>Creator1</creator>
             <location>player/mp3/filename1.mp3</location>
          </track>

          <track>
             <title>Title2</title>
             <creator>Creator2</creator>
             <location>player/mp3/filename2.mp3</location>
          </track>

	  <track>
             <title>Title3</title>
             <creator>Creator3</creator>
             <location>player/mp3/filename3.mp3</location>
          </track>

       </trackList>
    </playlist>
Now anywhere on your index-page you put the example-code I gave you before. Take a look at those paths, they should be correct and correspondence with the paths the files are right now. Now you should be oké...

Cheers :ugeek:
  • Tips:
  • Take a look at the creator's homepage. He has a awesome website with great examples and how-to's. There you can find out wat the parameters are doing, and how to adjust them. You even can create the code on the fly by filling in the form, which will spit out the code you need for your own needs.
  • You can place the folders and mp3-files where you want, but be sure that the paths in de javascript-code are correct taking it from where you place your player. But that is just basic HTML.

PM sent. Thanks in advance

May I also ask how can I make the playlist unviewable via the browser. I don't want my mp3 to be downloaded.

Thanks

I tried your sugested and no luck :(

check my site again if I did it right.

Yes I have turned off the indexing on the folder to make the files unviewable, however, playlist.xml can still be viewed on the browser which contains the exact url of the files. mp3 is still downloadable from that level.

By the way, which portal are you using? can you paste your whole mp3 block?

THanks

There is no way to protect your mp3's, or you have to use a 'xor encryptie' or something like that. But we know how to, many of your users won't..

I found it strange that your player is showing, but not loading. I see a block with white space and it is a flashmovie, but it says 'movie not loaded'. Very strange.

My block looks like this:

Code: Select all

<!-- MP3 Player -->
<div class="tabhead">
    <span class="dt">MP3 Player</span>
</div>
<div class="tabcell">
    <span class="dn">
        Luister hier naar eigen producties van onze forum-leden!<br /><br />
        <p id="player2"><a href="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer">Get the Flash Player</a> to see this player.</p>

        <script type="text/javascript">
            var s0 = new SWFObject('player/player.swf','mpl','233','155','8');
            s0.addParam('allowscriptaccess','always');
            s0.addParam('allowfullscreen','true');
            s0.addVariable('height','156');
            s0.addVariable('width','233');
            s0.addVariable('file','player/mp3/playlist.xml');
            s0.addVariable('frontcolor','0x1A1A1A');
            s0.addVariable('lightcolor','0xAA0000');
            s0.addVariable('screencolor','0xAA0000');
            s0.addVariable('displaywidth','0');
            s0.addVariable('searchbar','false');
            s0.addVariable('overstretch','fit');
            s0.addVariable('showicons','false');
            s0.addVariable('showeq','true');
            s0.addVariable('showstop','true');
            s0.addVariable('autoscroll','false');
            s0.addVariable('thumbsinplaylist','false');
            s0.write('player2');
        </script>
        Staat jouw track binnenkort ook in de MP3-Player? Lees dan de <a href="http://www.hardcoreproducerforum.nl/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=201" style="color: #AA0000;" class="username-coloured">FAQ</a> goed door en laat jouw track <a href="http://www.hardcoreproducerforum.nl/viewforum.php?f=37" style="color: #AA0000;" class="username-coloured">hier</a> door ons beoordelen.<br />

I took your code and copy over mine. Now it seems that the movie is already loaded but the player is still not showing.

Very odd. :(

I also post a question in Board3Portal (the one i am using). I hope someone would guide me there.

Your time and effort is highly appreciated. If you figure it out please let me know.

Thanks a lot!

I found the problem.. it's the flash player.

http://www.longtailvideo.com/support/fo ... -Player-10

But I was able to find a work around. I transfer the player on my windows server and wrapped it in my site...

My bbcode is working now but that in frontpage is not yet.. working on it.

Thanks for your help.

Great to here. Will take a look :P

Loved to do it :ugeek:

But now you can help me. How did you figured it out to get the BB-code to work? And with multiple players in a post/site?

And did you get it working with attachments?

Here's the bbcode i use. (actually it's yours. I just turn it into a bbcode) :D

BBCODE

Code: Select all

[mp3list]{TEXT1},{TEXT2},{TEXT3}[/mp3list]
HTML Replacement

Code: Select all

<p id="player2"><a href="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer">Get the Flash Player</a> to see this player.</p>
		<script type="text/javascript">
		    var s0 = new SWFObject('player.swf','mpl','{TEXT2}','{TEXT3}','8');
		    s0.addParam('allowscriptaccess','always');
		    s0.addParam('allowfullscreen','true');
		    s0.addVariable('height','{TEXT3}');
		    s0.addVariable('width','{TEXT2}');
		    s0.addVariable('file','{TEXT1}');
		    s0.addVariable('frontcolor','0x1A1A1A');
		    s0.addVariable('lightcolor','0xAA0000');
		    s0.addVariable('screencolor','0xAA0000');
		    s0.addVariable('displaywidth','0');
		    s0.addVariable('searchbar','false');
		    s0.addVariable('overstretch','fit');
		    s0.addVariable('showicons','false');
		    s0.addVariable('showeq','true');
		    s0.addVariable('showstop','true');
		    s0.addVariable('autoscroll','false');
		    s0.addVariable('thumbsinplaylist','false');
		    s0.write('player2');
		</script>
Help Line

Code: Select all

Tarabass wrote:And with multiple players in a post/site?
I haven't tried but from what I read, you just need to create different id for the player to have multiple instance of a player. That said, I think something like this would work.

BBCODE

Code: Select all

[mp3list]{TEXT1},{TEXT2},{TEXT3},{TEXT4}[/mp3list]
HTML Replacement

Code: Select all

<p id="{TEXT4}"><a href="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer">Get the Flash Player</a> to see this player.</p>
		<script type="text/javascript">
		    var s0 = new SWFObject('player.swf','mpl','{TEXT2}','{TEXT3}','8');
		    s0.addParam('allowscriptaccess','always');
		    s0.addParam('allowfullscreen','true');
		    s0.addVariable('height','{TEXT3}');
		    s0.addVariable('width','{TEXT2}');
		    s0.addVariable('file','{TEXT1}');
		    s0.addVariable('frontcolor','0x1A1A1A');
		    s0.addVariable('lightcolor','0xAA0000');
		    s0.addVariable('screencolor','0xAA0000');
		    s0.addVariable('displaywidth','0');
		    s0.addVariable('searchbar','false');
		    s0.addVariable('overstretch','fit');
		    s0.addVariable('showicons','false');
		    s0.addVariable('showeq','true');
		    s0.addVariable('showstop','true');
		    s0.addVariable('autoscroll','false');
		    s0.addVariable('thumbsinplaylist','false');
		    s0.write('{TEXT4}');
		</script>
Help Line

Code: Select all

[mp3list]playlist.xml,width,height,playerid[/mp3list]
I would love to be able to find out using JW player in attachments. At the moment I haven't tried it and have no idea.

Thx for your reply, appreciated! Will try to get it work..

And will take a look at the attachments. Don't think I will get it to work at a short term, but somehow I want it very bad. So if someone else can help us out, that would be great. My users are producers and I know you can't protect your uploaded files for scriptkiddy's, but want to make it as hard as possible to rip the tracks.

Thanks again m8 :)
