language/*/ucp.php. Escape all apostrophe with backslashes, like this - \' and use <br> for linebreaks.

<br /> is correct and yes you should be able to use it :) Remember language files need to be edited with with a plain text editor and saved with the file encoding UTF8 without BOM. If you did not do this the file will be corrupted. As such you will need to use a fresh copy and make the edits again, this time saving in the correct file encoding.

Hi, i've had second thoughts about this and have decided to remove it all together, i've put the phpbb agreement inside my terms and conditions and both together are too large, so can someone please tell me how to remove the default 'agreement' page and go straight to the sign up form, this way i can add a link inside the forum to the terms and conditions with a check box next to it.

thanks

OK i'm gonna need some further help with this..

can some tell me how to add a check box and a link to my terms WITHIN my registration form page? i'd like to do as mentioned above and remove the agreement from the front, then place a checkbox and a link to the terms just before the submit button on the registration form page...

is it also possible to not let the user continue unless the box is checked? i found some javascript that does this, is it possible to use that within a php page?

It is possible to add a checkbox. Sure. But it requires some amount of coding.

Open includes/ucp/ucp_register.php
Find:

Code: Select all

		// Check and initialize some variables if needed
		if ($submit)
		{
			$error = validate_data($data, array(
This is where the valiadtion functions are called and where you might start.

The validation functions are part of includes/functions_user.php.
If you can't do it by yourself you require someone to write a MOD for you.

hmm yeah it's probably out of my depth. Would anyone be willing to help with this and write me the mod?

also, how do i make users go straight to the form signup and not to the agreement text page?
