Instant Redirects EVERYWHERE

Post by Gunnar » Thu Jan 08, 2009 12:54 pm

Skip ALL redirects:

AutoMOD addon.

Remove ALL redirect screens (and have option that users could disable the instant redirects in ucp).

(and no i am not looking for instant post redirect, but ALL redirect skips)

This will require quite a few modifications in quite a few files. I used to switch off the notices on my forum for all by editing the files - I have since stopped doing that however.

Here is my simple way:

Code: Select all

in posting.php / viewtopic.php / ucp.php / includes/functions.php / includes/..

#
#-----[ FIND ]-----
# partial line

meta

#
#-----[ REPLACE WITH ]-----
# whole line

// Instant Redirect after post MOD

// meta_refresh(3, $redirect_url);

   redirect($redirect_url);

// Instant Redirect after post MOD

# or simply change the meta_redirect time to less than the set one eg: 0.5

after reading your modification, i started wondering.

isn't it possible to just modify this function

meta_refresh(3, $redirect_url);

so instead of actually using the first variable i ignore it and use 0 or 0.1

in my head it sounds brilliant :P

Update:

In includes/functions.php
Find

Code: Select all

$url = redirect($url, true, $disable_cd_check);
Add before:

Code: Select all

// Instant redirect everywhere ( http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=72&t=1398335&p=8334485#p8334485 )
unset($time);
$time = 0;
@ mods, can i release this as a mod, or am i breaking some rules by modifying the systems functions ?
