Show PostID number when viewing posts.

Post by mkruer » Mon Mar 30, 2009 11:52 pm

I want to add the Post ID number for the viewing of each post right under the edit/modify/quote/delete post options are. This way when managing the board, I can tell people to look for the PostID number in the thread or even better yet the ID number would be a link to copy so I can copy and past the ling. I know this should be simple to find but I haven’t found it yet, probably because all the search terms are too generic.

Thanks

If you hover over/click this little icon -> Image below the post title, it will give you the post id. It's also a direct link. If you wanted to, you could easily replace that image in viewtopic_body.html with {postrow.POST_ID}, which would our put the post id.
Look for this code:

Code: Select all

<img src="{T_ICONS_PATH}{postrow.POST_ICON_IMG}" width="{postrow.POST_ICON_IMG_WIDTH}" height="{postrow.POST_ICON_IMG_HEIGHT}" alt="" />

Thanks, Thats exactly what I was looking for,
Actually because I am a lazy bastard, Is there a way to get the post without the sid?
Basically I want to be able to copy the address as follows

Code: Select all

<a href="http://www.someurl.com>name of the forum topic</a>
That way people being lazy can just copy and past the URL in another post. Basically it becomes a quick copy link.

Code: Select all

<a href="#p{postrow.POST_ID}">post # {postrow.POST_ID} </a>

Generally you shouldn't see the SID in the URL. It will only show if you have incorrect cookie settings.
Might be worth checking that out ;)

When I hover over that icon is just pops up "Post" with no other information. Is there something I need to enable in the ACP or elsewhere. I'm running phpMM3 3.0.4 with RedSilver3.

The post number is in the URL at the bottom of your browser when you hover over the icon.
