Auto Post Topics from external RSS Feed

Hey everyone,

I would like to recommend a MOD for PHPbb3 which takes an external RSS Feed, parses it and creates a new topic for news item.

There is an existing mod for PHPBB2 which works 100% perfectly and i've been using it for over 5 years now. It's called FIND http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 4&t=130271

The problem is url=http://www.phpbb.com/community/memberli ... ile&u=6288]netclectic[/url] the original author abandoned it back in 2006 and the person who took over the MOD also abandoned the phpbb scene (as far as I can tell).

I thought we might have had a replacement for FIND on the PHPBB3 platform however the DEV of the MOD is taking several years now. It's called Last RSS AutoPosting.

So, if anyone out there wants to pickup the torch, I'm sure many will benefit from this type of MOD.

I've got LastRSS working perfectly now with over 10 different feeds. It doesnt have an admin interface but it works!

Were you able to just download and install and tweak via the database or did it require additional tweaking?

Installed it like normal and then did the SQL for each RSS feed.

Got it up and running however it's really buggy. Not all posts in feed are parsed, index.php hangs while it's parsing and a bunch of other issues.

Need a rock solid solution....

Not one for reviving posts but....

Is there another MOD around that can do this? I was using the SMIX one but it appears to be unsuported and I had an issue with my forum and had to uninstall it...

Anyone?

Wich SMIX mod did you use?
I'm using lastRSS agregator 2.0.0RC on my live forum, only adjusted it to a whole newspage with several RSS feeds. You need to be logged in to view this page so here is a screenshot

I've recently i installed SmiX.MODs Feed News Center 0.4.0 on a testforum, it works but it's very buggy but it works without problems for over a week now. link to that is here

I prefer to use the first one
