You've cut your picture so small it's difficult to know where that is.

Yes but where is that on your forum?

There's no context to the picture to know where that red box is.

O o I think here some misunderstanding is going on. Maybe I didn't explain properly what I am looking for.

Okay here is the case:

Member gets notification email for them subscribed post on each reply, which send by webmaster, here is "admin@pixelandgrain.in". So when they received email that emails display sender name as "admin@pixelandgrain.in" that you can see in the first attached image covered with red box. I want to change that sender display name from "admin@pixelandgrain.in" to "Pixel and Grain - Forums" So how can I change that sender display name?

Do you mean that picture is from your email application, like hotmail or gmail? You should have said that.

Those mail readers are doing their job. The person receiving would have to set your site up as a contact in their address book so it then interprets the email to belong to your site.

I don't think so. I think it takes the email address and matches it to a saved contact in your contacts list and then shows the name instead of the email address. That's outside of what phpBB is providing.

As i believe there should be some settings like in outlook you define your display name while setting up your account. In phpbb something should be there! or may be need to modify any php or so

Thanks my friend, I really appreciate.

But everything goes over the HEAD :P
May be because I am not that sound in php or I didn't understand table stuffs.. Is there any easy way to understand? :(

it's very simple to do this ...

open inclues/functions_messenger.php
find

Code: Select all

    /**
    * Return email header
    */
    function build_header($to, $cc, $bcc)
    {
in this function find

Code: Select all

$headers[] = 'From: ' . $this->from;
replace with

Code: Select all

//$headers[] = 'From: ' . $this->from;
$headers[] = 'From: Pixel and Grain - Forums ' . $this->from;
