Did you tried the igorw's MOD? I guess it should work on the phpBB 3.0.8.

Has anyone gotten this to work properly on 3.0.8?

I have posted within the MOD author's support sub-forum, however it appears the author isn't active at this time, and no support is currently being provided.

Thanks

That's fine, but how to utilize this function in conjunction with an image? In essence, creating a "Gender" area within the profile from, say, a pull-down menu that when selected, will also display the appropriate gender image as well.

Is this possible?

This mod doesn't seem to work. Maybe somebody who can seriously fiddle with themes and can get it to work, but I couldn't. I think a replacement is needed. We are still men and women and it's still interesting to know who's who....

Ask in support for help.

Or you can just use custom profile fields.

I forced installed it but I have no idea how to verify if it works....
There was no readme or anything. I looked for new fields etc, but I didn't find any.
Got some error messages during install, so I figured it didn't work.

Please, please could you explain how to check if my installation works?

Open the instructions in install.xml and check if you have all the edits.

Thanks Jessica :)

I'll try that as a last resort later, but if possible - is there any new fields, buttons etc that should appear?
I'm struggling with a couple of other MODs that I installed, to see where the new functionality actuall IS. the ACP is pretty big and it's not always obvious where things are.

I imagine the gender functionality MUST have some new field or admin somewhere.
Also, even if I find the code, it doesn't necessarily mean the functionality works.
It would be helpful of the MODs clearly stated where the change will appear.

go to your personal profile ( user control panel )
you will see a new box to check for gender.
check it for whatever.

go to one of your posts, look at the author profile. if it worked, it will be there.

there are no admin settings etc. it is there for people to choose or not.

the images are part of the install however there are other images in the contrib folder of the MOD folder if you would like to use them.

I saw no "force install" message during install. the only message I got was one telling me that the UMIL was out of date on the final "success" page of the install.

Thanks so much for helping me, Robert... :)
Noo... I don't see anything about gender.

I actually created gender as a user group, earlier - but I know that was already there and has nothing to do with the MOD.

I see nothing different. I switched to English in case it was a language thing, but it doesn't appear there either.

What do you think?

I'll uninistall and re-install it and check carefully what it says during the process.
Also - how does it KNOW the gender if the user hasn't specified it?
Where does the user indicate what gender he/she is?

Since I have the same setup as you, it ought to have worked for me, if it worked for you.
