Changing the spelling of a BBcode

My forum is aimed primarily at English users and I'd like to make it so that the [color] tag can be spelt both as [color] but also as [colour] and to make it so that the code the forum inserts is always spelt [colour]. Is there any way to do this?

just add an additional bbcode [colour=#{SIMPLETEXT}]{TEXT}[/colour] with right replacement <span style="color:#{SIMPLETEXT};">{TEXT}</span>, so it works on both bbcode-tags automatically. just set the [colour] bbcode to not shown on post-box under acp > bbcodes, so the users are not confused.

Thanks a lot! It seems to work! I would really rather hide the original one (or alter it), though, as it is a bit of a pest to have the colour-picker use color and the BBcode use colour.

just remove or comment out the genuine function from template-file.
i thought in prosilver => posting_buttons.html and posting_editor.html.

otherwise i say in my last post
just set the [colour] bbcode to not shown on post-box under acp > bbcodes, so the users are not confused.
so the additional codes are invisible, means in source-code only and 'eating no bread'
