I'm not sure if there's something already out there, but I'd love to have an info box, the same width and outline as the current forum sections, to sit above or below other forums, and allowing you to add in your own text, pictures or code.
This could display
- the latest news topics related to the forum topic,
- custom icons/links to important pages or other sites
- videos or pictures related to forum
- advertising
- etc
Having these within a box that matches the same outline as the forum theme would make it fit it very nicely. There are already boxes like this for things like Birthdays, Statistic, etc at the bottom of the board, but none where you can add your own text/pics or code.
It would be nice to be able to set permissions for this box within the ACP, but even without it it would be very useful.

Yes it does offer some of the functionality, but lacks the ability to put in your own code, and restrict any type of formatting to bbcodes, which really limits what you can do.
