That can't be done with standard phpBB so moved to MOD Requests.

Sounds an interesting idea, might have a chance to put something together for you tonight.

A on/off toggle and the ability to set a URL to redirect to sounds like the best solution?

Have written something quickly up for you. If you could try it out and see what you think, if it's suitable and works I'll write it up properly and submit to the MODDB so others can use it as well.

If you are using AutoMOD or prefer the layout of a MODX file I've also had a chance to write it all up for you. Download is here, let me know how you get on.

Hello, Mark, sorry for my delay,
Your MOD worked like a charm (I've used AutoMOD). Users are being redirected to my welcome post in the first login, the installation was easy and without any problems.
Thank you for your help, I really appreciated it.

Glad to hear it is working well. I've made some changes, couple of bits I forgot to add first time around. I've also made it a bit clearer where you are being redirected to in the link on the confirmation page.

Download 1.0.0

This is the version that I'll also send to the MODDB here. I've tested it with AutoMOD and it seems to be working well, I think the best way for you to upgrade would be to uninstall the old version via AutoMOD then re-install this version.

Again, if you have any problems just let me know.

Hello!
I'm very sorry for my delay. I've been very busy in the last weeks.
Unfortunately I was still not able to test your update since automod is not letting me uninstall the first release.
Here is the message in all four files to change when uninstalling:

Code: Select all

The Find specified by the MOD could not be found

Just downloaded this mod, installed it and it works perfect :)

Thank you MarkTheDaemon

Would there be a way that existing registered users could get pointed to a thread in the same way ?
Sometimes I need members to read important announcements and this would get 100% of users logging in to read it rather than the normal 5% that can be bothered to read announcements.

Thanks for the feedback, glad you are happy with the MOD. I've updated it since this post was updated and it has been submitted to the MODDB so once it is approved I will create an update script for you and any other users that have already installed this version.

The feature you are asking for obviously wouldn't be in this MOD but is certainly possible with a few tweaks here and there, would probably be best packaged as a completely different MOD. I'm quite happy to spend a bit of time working on this and releasing it if you and others would find it useful.
