[REQUEST] phpBB 3 Calendar

Hi!

For phpBB2 there was a Calendar Mod (http://www.snailsource.com/scripts/index.html).
I would very much like something like it for phpBB3.

It doesn't need to be very advanced, just the ability to add one or more events to each day.

Just wondering if anyone has plans to do this or something like it? Also wondering if there's a large demand for this out there?

I am looking for a calendar, too. But I like to have a more advanced calendar (with recurring events, maybe even with user calendars). It would also be nice to let users tell whether they attend an event or not.

I don't know if the team at snailsource is working on calendar for phpbb3. They created this calendar for phpbb2. http://www.tsistone.com/calendar.php

I don' t think they will release a new mod. When I remember correctly their phpbb2 mod has not been updated since many years.

I like to have this calendar (topic calendar) converted to phpbb3, but with the features I already posted above (recurring events, user calendars, attendances):

I need a calendar that can be implemented with ezportal (or another portal), if that isn't going to be possible with phpbb3. Then I'm gonna stay at my current phpbb2, or find another system.

I have managed to modify my phpbb2 installetion, so I can use it as a blog (only) with a photoalbum, calendar and a downloadcenter. I don't use phpbb as a forum. Little strange..but.

It works for me.

Unfortunately development of the above calendar has stopped.

ptirhiik, the mod author of the popular topic calendar for phpbb2, does not seem to release a phpbb3 version soon, too:

Hope that someone else can make a calendar mod for phpbb3 or a bridge to a good open source/freeware calendar.

On all the forums Ive managed and helped manage, I and the other admins have never found a good use for them, but I guess it depends on the site.

It really depends on the site. If you run a nightlife forum which lists all the events in town, a calendar comes in handy. Or if you have a very big community with lots of user meetings, community events (not only offline).
