Topic Sort Order

Request for a Topics Sort Order.

Currently phpBB3 has a few options to sort topics via UCP and in the viewforum page. When set to sort by post time, the topic order is changed when a post is replied to.

I request the option to keep the Topic order by the time the Topic was posted (ascending/descending).

Could thsi MOD also take into account the sort by subject.

Much the same as the phpBB2 MOD please.

I too use a mod to keep the topics in the order they were posted. Posting a reply does not change the topic order

This looks like a bug. I don' t think the developers wanted to have such a behaviour.

Development team put it under Support request ticket_id=9642 - funny how topic order is determined by a post.

Have you found any answers out in your travels oddfish?

My forum has really turned to custard. There are 500+ replies a day in a couple of sections and im stuffed if I can tell which are the topics I have seen and which ones I haven't.

Sort by topicID is the highest priority in my list

I have made a little MOD I call "Sort by topic time".

It adds "Topic time" in the dropdown-list in UCP > Board preferences > Edit display options > Display topics ordering by: and viewtopic > Sort by

This gives the possibility to sort by topic start time.

I'l submit it for aproval later today.

would this work for som1 who wants to sort a couple of there forums alphabetically

I have 6 forums in 2 categories and would like 2 of the forums to be ordered alphabetically, whilst keeping all of the others ordered by last post time (as standard)

No, this affects all forums. And the setting is userbased.

I think you want something for the ACP. But the user setting would override that one. So this would be pointless without a "ignore user setting"-option. Or a "board default" added to the UCP.

I added sorting by clicking on column titles, see phpbb.cc forums.
