[REQ] Group Rank List

As far as I can say, no one has yet requested this MOD so...

I would like to see a MOD that would add the following features to phpBB3:


- Ability to create multiple post rank lists.
- Assing spesific group to spesific rank list.

So basicly...

Post ranks work as they have so far, but...:

You have multible rank sets:
(exsample, using military ranks)

• Flag Officers (5 ranks)
• Line Officers (6 ranks)
• Cadets (4 ranks)
• Warrant Officers (4 ranks)
• Non Commissioned Officers (11 ranks)

You could assign sertain groups to use spesific rank set:
(exsample, in same order)

• Admins (5 ranks)
• Full Moderators (6 ranks)
• Special Users 1 (Developers?!?!) (4 ranks)
• Special Users 2 (Suportters?!?!) (4 ranks)
• Registered Users (11 ranks)

So even if Admins "out rank" everyone their rank image would change based on their post amount...
I think it's a bit boring that admins have the same rank image from post 1 to post 999...999.

I would still leave the "Spesial Rank" system unaffected... for situations that I can't think right now...


This way we could assing rank insignias that change, based on post count, to all groups.

In my oppinion this would be cool feature to have integrated phpBB but since this is currently feature frozen, I just have to beg someone to make this MOD.

Okay, given that the rank system needs to be seriously upgraded, here's what I suggest.

- have the option to colorize ranks, perhaps other options as well.
- be able to define rank sets.
- be able to apply rank sets to individual users and groups, as well as define whether or not users can choose which rank set they want to use.
- have ranks be able to be affected not just by post count but by how many days the person has been a member of the forum, by the number of thread views, and total word count in posts. (this would use both an "and" and "or" operators so that you can have choose which of these options a rank would utilize) Thus you can create a truly dynamic rank system.
- have a fill bar image applied to a rank whereby as the user posts, the fill bar gets filled more porpotionatly with how close the user is to the next rank.

Additional ideas? Anyone like? I think this would be very useful. There was a rank mod for 2.x which was pretty popular and did some of this stuff.

That's fine, if normal phpbb users find this interesting, or have additional ideas, then eventually there'll be a coder/programmer who takes an interest in it as well. ^^

That's just to make alternate rank sets, I'd like a mod which expands the rank system as a whole, makes some seperate options for being able to rank up, and different options for ranks, colors, glow, shadow, etc.
