Yes. You can already do that from Manage Groups.

Click the "Members" link for the group.
Click "Find a Member"
Use whatever criteria you want to search for members.
Checkmark the members you want to add
Click the "Select Marked" button.
Click the Submit button on the Group-Members page.

even with the new admin-user from memberlist option -- there are still quite a few more steps involved depending on what one wants to accomplish.

Sorting the memberlist according to "last active" is nice, but I would like to actually SEE last post date AND last login date WITHOUT having to look at each individual profile.

I also dearly miss being able to do one thing to multiple accounts all in one click (such as deleting spam accounts or users who never paid their yearly membership dues), instead of tending to each individual user separately.

If I try to do this by groups, I'm going to wind up with 50 different groups for 150 users, and everyone belonging to at least 20 groups.

I hope someone updates this mod for phpbb3 because it was one of the most useful mods I ever used on phpbb2.

That "Last Active" date is the last login date.
What are you missing here that you had in the old Admin Userlist?

As I said, you can still checkmark a number of users from the list and delete them with one click.

I seem to be looking at something different than you are looking at.

When I sort my Memberlist according to last active date -- it might SORT according to last active, but the Memberlist still ONLY displays their join date. "Last Active" is NOT one of the displayed columns.

I'm using subsilver2

The columns I have:
# Username Joined Posts Rank Message E-mail Website

How do I make last active date display there?

Also, there are no check boxes, so how do I make the same exact change to multiple accounts FROM THE MEMBERLIST?

Admin Userlist showed me the last login date, the last post date, and the check boxes to do the same thing to multiple accounts all at once.

Memberlist doesn't do any of those three that I can see, unless there is some option to turn those on in the ACP that I simply have yet to find..

example situation 1:

If I have a regular reader, I don't want them to get pruned out simply because they haven't made an actual post in the last 6 months. Some of our organizational officers ONLY lurk, have never made any posts whatsoever, but still login and read every single day. If they see members doing something wrong, they don't post -- instead they pick up the phone and make a real live call so that the most appropriate moderator or admin will address the issue, so that they can avoid making themselves look like overbearing micro-managers.

example situation 2:

our org created >200 accounts directly from our membership roster all in the course of a week -- 2 years ago. Sorting by last active doesn't tell me who has actually logged in vs. who has never even logged in once. {Last login date}

Brf wrote:Go to Prune Users
Click "Find a User" under the big Prune Users box.
On the Userlist checkmark as many users as you want and click "Select marked"
Click Submit.

You can do the same thing under Ban Usernames.

Does the 3 ACP let you search or sort by the user's email?
I haven't found that capability.

So sorry to be dense— what tab is that in?

I help administer a board that recently transferred to phpBB3 and I'm still learning the ropes.

Is it Users and Groups/Manage Users?

My 3 board just has Find a Member and a name field.

Any ACP page that involves users. You click the "Find a member" link.

If you have hidden Email addresses and you do not have Mass Email permission, you will not see Email addresses.

I am looking for the same thing, I also think the email should be text and not a button so its all visible at once.

What if I only want to search users by email address? Any way to do that?
