Why is the phpbb 3 version for making blank pages take more work than the phpbb 2 ones? in phpbb 2 all we had was the template page and thats pretty much it, just put your stuff in it and add it to the phpbb files..

It really isn't when you know the system. Both take the same amount of work to setup, just a few lines at the top of the PHP file and a template file if you need one.

I'd prefer to not use the templates and just drop all of my code php, markup, etc, right into the php page. How do I set it up to not use the template? I tried out the instructions from http://olympuswiki.naderman.de/Adding_pages, tried commenting out the template call, but get the error "template->_tpl_load(): No file specified for handle body"... :/

It would take quite a bit more work to ignore the template system.

Just use it, it is much easier and cleaner than throwing the HTML code in the PHP files.

I'm having problems with this. I'm not sure if its a file that hasn't been updated or something else.

It says:
Something about add_user_avatar can't be found in the New_page.php page.

Can I have some support on this?
Thanks

I am guessing it says the function can't be found?

I am pretty sure that the add_user_avatar function does not exist in phpBB3.

Could it be something to do with the update?

What update?

Are you sure the add_user_avatar function ever existed?
