That would not be part of phpBB, that would be part of your hosting package.

I do not know how to do subdomains...but I have it setup on my board for user URL's to work like this:
http://www.lithiumstudios.org/EXreaction

If you are interested in getting it to work like that I can tell you how, it is only 2 edits or so.

Try this:

Open
.htaccess

At the end of the file add

Code: Select all

RewriteEngine on
Rewriterule ^([^/\.]{3,})$ ./memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&un=$1
Open
includes/functions_content.php

Find:

Code: Select all

$profile_url = ($custom_profile_url !== false) ? $custom_profile_url . '&u=' . (int) $user_id : append_sid("{$phpbb_root_path}memberlist.$phpEx", 'mode=viewprofile&u=' . (int) $user_id);
After Add

Code: Select all

$profile_url = generate_board_url() . '/' . $username;
That should do it.

Nope, no security problems with it. It just reforms the URL from something like:
http://www.phpbb.com/community/memberli ... EXreaction

To something like:

Code: Select all

http://www.phpbb.com/community/EXreaction
(put it in a code bbcode because it isn't a valid url here)

All of the security handling is done in memberlist. :)

I don't exactly understand what you are asking. :?

Are you asking if there is a way to have images and other things shown on the view profile page?

I think he means something like this elithas portfolio/profile

Meaning when you lets say go to http://www.lithiumstudios.org/EXreaction, you will se Exreactions profile and there is a menu like the example I showed you, where there is menu links to the users "about", "portfolio", "guestbook" and "blog" etc.

If that is what he means then its purely a style issue, then the http://www.lithiumstudios.org/EXreaction link type could not work for this couse it probably whould show something else in the address field like http://lithiumstudios.org/blog/EXreacti ... b-141.html.

Now when I think of it I think EXreaction could make this as simple as the username link to the profile(http://www.lithiumstudios.org/EXreaction).

Since one would only need to create one subdomain with the host tools, lets say "http://blog.lithiumstudios.org" and point it to the /blod folder, then could one do the same as for the profile link adding the username to the end of the subdomain "blod".

I´m I wrong?
