Ok just to let you know you only need remove this code:

Code: Select all

<h1>{SITENAME}</h1>
            <p>{SITE_DESCRIPTION}</p>
to remove the text links, if you delete the whole is screws up the header

That's what I thought at first, I was just seeing if it might get rid of some padding on the border. Anyway, as long as it worked that's all that matters. ;)

SHIVA_ wrote:the header title font size was changed to 1.3 and it's a great improvement. thanks for that.

centering of logo is not working out. it seems that it centers up and down, but not left and right?
Sorry, I must have given you a wrong code, replace it with:

Code: Select all

#logo {
        float: left;
        width: auto;
        padding: auto;
}

I think there is some code preventing the logo from centering, but when I play around with the code you mention, including using your suggestions, it only centers the logo top to bottom and not left to right.

I think the code doesn't consider the whole top banner (bg_header.gif), only part of it, and it tries to center it only within a section of the forum. for example, if I change the float to "right" the logo doesn't start at the right side of the banner, but the middle right.

I'm sorry, my problem is that for now I don't have a localhost to try my editions before posting, but I'm pretty sure that would do it. Reverse all editions you done to #logo and find in common.css:

Code: Select all

/* Site description and logo */
#site-description {
        float: left;
        width: 70%;
}
replace with:

Code: Select all

/* Site description and logo */
#site-description {
        float: left;
        width: 100%;
        padding: auto;
}

none of those work! every time I try to center left/right, it centers top/bottom which is not what i want. also, it pushes the search field underneath the banner which is also what i don't want. so I give up on this feature now. thanks for trying to help... S

Finally, I got my PC back, and I got it, SHIVA_, undo all the previous editions, and do the following, open file: common.css, find:

Code: Select all

#logo {
        float: left;
        width: auto;
        padding: 10px 13px 0 10px;
}
replace with:

Code: Select all

#logo {
        float: left;
        width: auto;
        padding: 10px 13px 0 50%;
}
then, refresh your themes.

Open file: styles/prosilver_se/theme/colours.css, find:

Code: Select all

.forabg, .forumbg {
	background-color: #505C65;
	background-image: url("{T_THEME_PATH}/images/bg_list.gif");
}
replace with:

Code: Select all

.forabg, .forumbg {
	background-color: #0076b1;
	background-image: url("{T_THEME_PATH}/images/bg_list.gif");
}
then refresh your themes.

Hello

I am using a little mod that displays when users get new PM.
It works fine In Firefox but not in Internet Explorer 7.

The pm bar is set to 100% width but Internet Explorer does not under stand this.
Se screenshot:
http://www.postimage.org/image.php?v=gxqCoyr
It doesnt go all the way to the left.

The code I am using:
Overall_header.html
Find:

Code: Select all

<body id="phpbb" class="section-{SCRIPT_NAME} {S_CONTENT_DIRECTION}">
After add:

Code: Select all

<div id="info"><div id="infobar">
<!-- IF not S_IS_BOT && not $CA_SKIP_PM_NOTIFY && S_USER_LOGGED_IN && S_DISPLAY_PM -->
<!-- IF S_USER_NEW_PRIVMSG or S_USER_UNREAD_PRIVMSG -->
<a href="{U_PRIVATEMSGS}" style="padding-top: 2px; padding-bottom: 2px;">Hello {S_USERNAME} - You have {PRIVATE_MESSAGE_INFO}<!-- IF PRIVATE_MESSAGE_INFO_UNREAD --> and {PRIVATE_MESSAGE_INFO_UNREAD}<!-- ENDIF --></a>
<!-- ENDIF -->
<!-- ENDIF -->
</div></div>
In colours.css added this:

Code: Select all

#info
  {
    overflow: visible;
    width: 100%;
    position: fixed;
    z-index:2001;
	 margin: -27px;
    font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    font-size: 10pt;
    font-weight: bold;
    background-color: #FFFFBB;
}

  #infobar a, #infobar a:link, #infobar a:visited, #infobar a:active
  {
    display: block;
    width:100%;
    clear: both;
    color: #00008B;
    padding: .45em .2em .45em 8em;
    border-bottom: .16em outset;
    text-decoration: none;
	 background-color: #FFFFBB;
    cursor: default;
  }

  #infobar a:hover
  {
    color: HighlightText;
    background: Highlight;
	 cursor: pointer;
  }
This code works in all other styles I have used. But it doesn't in this one.

I really hope somebody can help me?
I am done with phpBB
