replace wth:

That fixed it, once I used wordpad instead of notepad (as was originally suggested  ). I'm impressed you worked it out without the need to see the actual file.

Next question: how can I move the logo slightly to the right (or anywhere else along the horizontal) or get rid of it without leaving any sign there is an image lacking?

In overall_header.html, find:

Code: Select all

<a href="{U_INDEX}">{SITE_LOGO_IMG}</a>
you can add a padding to it:

Code: Select all

<a href="{U_INDEX}" style="padding: Tpx Rpx Bpx Lpx;">{SITE_LOGO_IMG}</a>
T for top, R for righ, B for bottom and L for left.
Or you can delete it or comment it out to remove the logo.

px stands for pixels? Should I insert a number value somewhere?

Yes, px stands for pixel, and you should add values in replace for T, R, B and L add the value you need for each direction.

So, to move it to the right 20 pixels it would like what - the following?

Code: Select all

<a href="{U_INDEX}" style="padding: 20 Rpx;">{SITE_LOGO_IMG}</a>

No, you replace the R with the value, but if you want to move it to right, then it would be:

Code: Select all

<a href="{U_INDEX}" style="padding-left: 20px;">{SITE_LOGO_IMG}</a>
you should get some knowledge of CSS ;)

There's a lot of things I need to learn. Basically, it's all on a need basis, but you are right, if I am going to continually tinker with the forum, I need to know all this stuff. Still can't put in mods yet.

Here is the result of some of my tinkering. It's a little ghastly, but it will do for now as a sporting theme for the sport's forum.

I would like to get that logo on the right down underneath, flush below the top wrapper, but it will do for now. :)

Thanks again, your help has been great! ;)

I was wondering how I might move some text which shows up overlayed on the content_top jpeg. I want to indent the text a bit to make it easier to read.

Hopefully you can see by the image below how the image introduced on the sides of the content_top jpeg is making part of the text difficult to read.

Nice of you to say.

I've now got 4 variations of the theme in the one forum, the one pictured above, sports, philosophy/religion and one called the Acropolis. They all need a little bit of tweaking.

What a like about theme is the colour scheme and the ability to tailor forums within the board easily and effectively to a subject but keep an overall consistent appearance throughout the board.

I'm working on more variations to fit in with the other subjects of the forums. Call me obsessional, but I like doing little things like that. Just need to find more members now.

Thanks for the positive feedback.

I'm having a few problems with the way the BB codes are appearing in the posting-edit page. The standard codes appear side by side, as they should, but the added ones appear down the page, making it necessary to scroll down to the editing box.

Can anyone suggest a fix to this problem. It only happens with DarkFantasy, not others.

Image included shows the problem.

Is the author of the DarkFatnasy theme only supporting it on his own forum now?

I love your theme, but is there anyway to stretch it to 100%? Thanks!
