Great style Mighty Gorgon. :D

I'm looking to add a custom block in index_body.html and this I can easily do. However, I'm wishing to add the showhide script as well (expand/hide block). Could you tell me how to go about this please?

Many thanks in advance.

Hi quahappy,
there are several ways to do what you need.

You can use the same code I use for other blocks just to simplify things.

Let me make a short tutorial for you.
  • Let's suppose you have a block like this:

    Code: Select all

    <div><div class="tbl-h-l"><div class="tbl-h-r"><div class="tbl-h-c"><div class="tbl-title"><h4>{L_MY_BLOCK}</h4></div></div></div></div>
    <table class="tablebg" width="100%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
    <tr>
    	<td class="row1" align="center" valign="middle">{L_MY_BLOCK}</td>
    <tr><td class="cat-bottom">&nbsp;</td></tr>
    </table>
    <div class="tbl-f-l"><div class="tbl-f-r"><div class="tbl-f-c">&nbsp;</div></div></div></div>
  • You need to wrap it into a DIV which is the SHOW status and you can do that like this:

    Code: Select all

    <div id="myblock_nh">
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    tmp = 'myblock';
    if(GetCookie(tmp) == '2')
    {
    	ShowHide('myblock_nh', 'myblock_h', 'myblock');
    }
    //-->
    </script>
    <div><div class="tbl-h-l"><div class="tbl-h-r"><div class="tbl-h-c"><img style="padding-top:9px;padding-right:6px;float:right;cursor:pointer;" src="{T_THEME_PATH}{$MG_MIN}" onclick="javascript:ShowHide('myblock_nh','myblock_h','myblock');" alt="{L_WHO_IS_ONLINE}" /><div class="tbl-title"><h4>{L_MY_BLOCK}</h4></div></div></div></div>
    <table class="tablebg" width="100%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
    <tr>
    	<td class="row1" align="center" valign="middle">{L_MY_BLOCK}</td>
    <tr><td class="cat-bottom">&nbsp;</td></tr>
    </table>
    <div class="tbl-f-l"><div class="tbl-f-r"><div class="tbl-f-c">&nbsp;</div></div></div></div>
    </div>
    The JavaScript part is needed to check the cookie value, so settings can be saved when reloading the page.
  • Then you need to create the block for the Hidden Status:

    Code: Select all

    <div id="myblock_h" style="display:none;">
    <div><div class="tbl-h-l"><div class="tbl-h-r"><div class="tbl-h-c"><img style="padding-top:9px;padding-right:6px;float:right;cursor:pointer;" src="{T_THEME_PATH}{$MG_MAX}" onclick="javascript:ShowHide('myblock_nh','myblock_h','myblock');" alt="{L_WHO_IS_ONLINE}" /><div class="tbl-title"><h4>{L_MY_BLOCK}</h4></div></div></div></div>
    <table class="tablebg" width="100%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
    <tr><td class="row1"><span class="gensmall">&nbsp;</span></td></tr>
    </table>
    <div class="tbl-f-l"><div class="tbl-f-r"><div class="tbl-f-c">&nbsp;</div></div></div></div>
    </div>
  • Just to recap, the final code of the block should look something like this:

    Code: Select all

    <div id="myblock_h" style="display:none;">
    <div><div class="tbl-h-l"><div class="tbl-h-r"><div class="tbl-h-c"><img style="padding-top:9px;padding-right:6px;float:right;cursor:pointer;" src="{T_THEME_PATH}{$MG_MAX}" onclick="javascript:ShowHide('myblock_nh','myblock_h','myblock');" alt="{L_WHO_IS_ONLINE}" /><div class="tbl-title"><h4>{L_MY_BLOCK}</h4></div></div></div></div>
    <table class="tablebg" width="100%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
    <tr><td class="row1"><span class="gensmall">&nbsp;</span></td></tr>
    </table>
    <div class="tbl-f-l"><div class="tbl-f-r"><div class="tbl-f-c">&nbsp;</div></div></div></div>
    </div>

    <div id="myblock_nh">
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    tmp = 'myblock';
    if(GetCookie(tmp) == '2')
    {
    	ShowHide('myblock_nh', 'myblock_h', 'myblock');
    }
    //-->
    </script>
    <div><div class="tbl-h-l"><div class="tbl-h-r"><div class="tbl-h-c"><img style="padding-top:9px;padding-right:6px;float:right;cursor:pointer;" src="{T_THEME_PATH}{$MG_MIN}" onclick="javascript:ShowHide('myblock_nh','myblock_h','myblock');" alt="{L_WHO_IS_ONLINE}" /><div class="tbl-title"><h4>{L_MY_BLOCK}</h4></div></div></div></div>
    <table class="tablebg" width="100%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
    <tr>
    	<td class="row1" align="center" valign="middle">{L_MY_BLOCK}</td>
    <tr><td class="cat-bottom">&nbsp;</td></tr>
    </table>
    <div class="tbl-f-l"><div class="tbl-f-r"><div class="tbl-f-c">&nbsp;</div></div></div></div>
    </div>
Let me know if it works. :)

Small problem with the information block that shows up after clicking on a submit button - it usually says something to the effect of "Post was successful... etc,"

well mine is blank no matter what I click submit on, here is an image, any suggestions:

Your attachment is in .tiff format and browsers can not display this. Attach another image in different file format (i.e. .gif) so support can be given. :)

Thanks for the informative reply! Yes, it worked. :D

The mistake I had made was not enclosing the entire block with the <div> showhide container.

Hi again Mighty Gorgon,

Hoping this is confined just to me except I noticed that using BBCode [code] [/code] differs from Prosilver. There doesn't appear to be the SELECT ALL option and the box is fixed in height (no auto-adjust and lines of empty space below a few lines of code - see attachments). Looks correct if five or more lines of code inserted (get scroll bars). Unless I'm missing some code from stylesheet.css?

Hi,

The poll question text width needs to be narrowed to allow the image bars to be complete. I know how to adjust the image width in viewtopic.php. How do I narrow the question text or otherwise solve this problem please?

You are correct, CODE box differs from proSilver: I forced the box to not expand and the content to flow below through scrollbars.

This is achieved by these properties in CSS for codecontent class:

Code: Select all

	height: 100px;
	overflow: auto;
If you want to add other features you will need to grab them from proSilver and import them. ;)

You can try to force table cell width in viewtopic_body.html:

Code: Select all

<td width="400"><span class="gen">{poll_option.POLL_OPTION_CAPTION}</span></td>
Maybe this can solve your issue... can you please make a test and let me know?

Unfortunately my styles are still in the queue. If you cannot wait the team to review and approve them, you can have a try with my "non-approved" styles here: Mighty Gorgon phpBB Styles

Please remember that when the team approves my styles, some things may be changed and you may need to update again.

Yes, that worked.

Open viewtopic_body.html

Find:

Code: Select all

<span class="gen">{poll_option.POLL_OPTION_CAPTION}</span></td>
Add before:

Code: Select all

 <td width="500">

I noticed that in some places, the jump box overlaps the footer. See the attachment.

I found out why.

This DIV construction

Code: Select all

<div style="float:{S_CONTENT_FLOW_END};"><!-- INCLUDE jumpbox.html --></div>
seems to be wrong. I found the place where it is correct (memberlist_body.html). It should be

Code: Select all

<div align="{S_CONTENT_FLOW_END}"><!-- INCLUDE jumpbox.html --></div>
The files with wrong construction are

memberlist_view.html
memberlist_leaders.html
