Thank You for our quick reply. I'm now using a Bl@ck 1.0.6 version. I am afraid to update it, cause i made few modifications allready that took me a lot of time and headache as for beginner and it all can be lost. http://forum.civicclub.lt/index.php?style=38 <-- this is the link, but i'm afraid that You would not be able to see it, couse it is still only available for preview. So are there any crucial fixes in the newer version, or can i just stick to the 1.0.6 one? By the way, the main reason, i wanted to make the width larger is that i made a restriction to post images larger thant 640px width, and on 1280x800 resolution the image is being cut of in about 20px... This is the main reason... Using a debuger i found that main frame is set to minimum width 750px ant width 70%... Any sugestions about that?

P.S. I'm sorry for my imperfect english - i'm Lithuanian.
P.P.S. I apreciate Your help very much! Thanks again in advance! :)

EDITED:I think i found the solution.
Tell me please is the modification stated below is good to use:

In borders.css:

I searched for this:

Code: Select all

.outside {
       margin: 0px auto;
       min-width: 750px;
       width: 70%;
    }
To replace to this:

Code: Select all

.outside {
       margin: 0px auto;
	 min-width: 750px;
	 max-width: 920px;
    }

Yes there are some fixes needed: mainly a WC3 Validation error and popup windows not having borders.
  • Fixed some windows not having the rounded corners - added code to simple header/footer
  • Changed background color, added background image
  • Changed forum width to be 90% with min-width 1000px and max width 1360px
  • Changed post profile width to be 18%, now there is no wasted space on wide-screen monitors.
  • Changed header to be all white
  • Corners are now png, no more jaggies
  • Added "Designed by sevenalive" to the footer
I have made a MODX to assist you in update from 1.0.x to 1.1. It edits the template files needed and overwrites some theme files. If you customized the theme files, i suggest you merge the changes (ie. winmerge). you should be able to update Bl@ck with AutoMOD

That has nothing to do with this style. You need to change that in your board configuration.

Your using an old version of Bl@ck, please update to 1.1.0, your using 1.0.6.

Also I am not sure what you are trying to accomplish, those are helpful links and I personally use them a lot, I don't think it's a good idea to remove them. However you can search for an answer, this theme is based on prosilver, any edits done to prosilver will work with Bl@ck. So you can search how to remove those links in prosilver.

Those links would be found in index_body.html in the prosilver folder if you are using Bl@ck 1.1

I think you may be looking for a language pack to translate that into your own language. Do do that, you can download a translation, upload it to your board and install it.

Hi,

I'd like to move the search box from it's current location which is in the top right of the header (obscuring some text in the banner) to possibly next to the vA^ change font size.

Can you provide help on what is the best way to move it. Also, which file would I need to edit if i want to keep the banner @ http://www.lfrancors.com/forum/ central to the forum?

thanks

Hey mate...love the style btw.

Total newb question and I'm sure you've answered it a bunch of times but I'm having a bit of trouble.
Its not a huge deal but I'd love to reduce the height of my header area to a slimmer look. Reducing the size of the header image doesn't seem to help as it just scales back up. Is there some parameters I need to set...and where would those be. I'm assuming in the borders.css file but I'm not exactly sure where...

I totally appreciate the help. Keep on kickin ass!

It will be in the borders.css file, but you will need to edit the bg_headers.gif to be a smaller width, then make the necessary changes to the css. You could do it like one of my sites. Move the border below the header instead: see http://sevenupdate.com/forum/

Proposed Bl@ck 1.2, implements most of my custom changes to the Bl@ck style that I use on my own sites. I also included in the contrib folder alternate files to add a navigation menu to the top of the screen. The navigation menu can be extended even further using JQuery (but don't ask me how lol)

I am looking for feedback before I submit it to the styledb

Seven, I love this style you've created!

Recently, however, I updated to 3.0.7 and started using the Q&A CAPTCHA option. However, the question doesn't show up on the registration page. Do you have a workaround or plans to update the style to include that new CAPTCHA option?

Thanks!

It should work fine, you probably need to copy over any js files from the prosilver template folder to the Bl@ck folder, that will solve that issue. That captcha includes some extra java-script files, so just copy them over to Bl@ck/template
