There are quite a few out there.

Just download one from http://www.phpbb.com/styles/demo/3.0/ and check it against the W3C validator. :)

The most themes are X-HTML 1.0 not 1.1 , i doubt you find there the 1.1 X-HTML .
The default prosilver is also 1.0 not 1.1

Code: Select all

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">

But why you need 1.1 kinabrew ?
Need phpBB installation, extenstions, Styles or integrate phpBB with you website?

I made an xhtml-1.1-compliant phpbb3 theme and was wondering if anyone else had already done so.

I have to say, I was curious, and google'd your username and managed to find the style you created at http://macstack.net/forums/

I like how you used tables for the forumlist and topiclists, yet still organised post content in divs and such. I've never been fond of eliminating all tables from the forum design, especially when refering to the forumlist and topiclists as they do consist of tabular data, which is partially why I haven't developed any styles based on prosilver as of yet. (even though subsilver2 doesn't exactly respect the concept of using tables strictly for tabular data either, I just haven't felt like completely rebuilding the templates from the ground up yet)

Still, I gotta give you props for your hardwork - great outcome. :)

That's quite an extraordinary style, reminds me of Greenweaver's lo-fi style (Which i'd love to see on 3.0x)

I'm glad you like it.

I wasn't planning on making it available for download yet, since I still need to make a few changes to the javascript files(I'm trying to remove the use of innerHTML and make all javascript pass jslint), and to tweak the stylesheets used for Internet Explorer 6.

I expect to make it available some time within the next 1-2 weeks.

I believe that if any style conforms to XHTML1.0 Strict, it would be quite easy (in maybe just a few modifications here and there) make it valid XHTML 1.1... I remember making a pure XHTML 1.0 Strict site, I accidentally ran it through W3 Validator overridden with 1.1 and only got a XML warning... :?

Heh, well that's conveniant. :P
Not sure if it's true that making prosilver xhtml 1.1 valid would be that simple of a task, but I think I might eventually give it a go just out of curiosity. Still, I'd much rather use kinabrew's style if I were a forum admin in need of a compliant style - it's quite the work. ;)
