Ripping sites?

Post by mickaldinho » Sat Aug 02, 2008 12:24 am

Is it possible to make a theme you create unrippable so noone else can steal it and use it?

Thanks :)

Not if we like it enough. :)

You can make it hard(er), but if someone wants it, it's not that tough...but make them work for it.

You could try using .htaccess to protect your templates folder, but even that isn't really enough. Ultimately, if anyone wanted to badly enough, they could rip your design despite what measures you implement to prevent it. If you want to prevent ripping altogether, the best thing you could do is not publish the design or make it available to the public. I know, it sucks from a designers point of view, but the way I see it, usually sites who resort to ripping don't go very far, so it's not worth the stress.
