Changing the colour of a forum or category link.

Post by jerryT »

Hi
I'm looking to change the colour of a couple of my forum and category links.

I have played with the mod 'Forum Link Colour' and it seems to work except no changes show on the index page.

Any other way to do it ?

Thanks

Open file: styles/your_style/theme/colours.css, find:

Code: Select all

a.forumtitle {
	color: #105289;
}
that's for forum link, and find:

Code: Select all

li.header dt, li.header dd {
	color: #FFFFFF;
}
add after:

Code: Select all

div.forabg ul.topiclist li.header dt a {
	color: #000000;
}
and change 000000 to the color you want. Then refresh themes through ACP.

EDIT: Open file: styles/your_style/template/forumlist_body.html, find:

Code: Select all

<a href="{forumrow.U_VIEWFORUM}" class="forumtitle">{forumrow.FORUM_NAME}</a>
replace with:

Code: Select all

<a href="{forumrow.U_VIEWFORUM}" class="forumtitle"<!-- IF forumrow.FORUM_ID == x --> style="color: #000000;"<!-- ELSEIF forumrow.FORUM_ID == y--> style="color: #ff0000"<!-- ENDIF -->>{forumrow.FORUM_NAME}</a>
as 'x' and 'y' are the IDs of the forums you want to change colors, change them to the colors you want then refresh templates through ACP.

You could use it like this, find:

Code: Select all

<a href="{topicrow.U_VIEW_TOPIC}" class="topictitle">{topicrow.TOPIC_TITLE}</a>
replace with:

Code: Select all

<a href="{topicrow.U_VIEW_TOPIC}" class="topictitle"<!-- IF topicrow.TOPIC_ID == x --> style="color: #xxxxxx;"<!-- ENDIF -->>{topicrow.TOPIC_TITLE}</a>
and change 'x' with the ID of the topic, and 'xxxxxx' with the color code.

Thanks.

Last one how do I make the forum title change colour in the viewforum_body not the thread.
eg:
<h2><a href="{U_VIEW_FORUM}">{FORUM_NAME}</a></h2>

Thanks again :)

In viewforum_body.html, find:

Code: Select all

<h2><a href="{U_VIEW_FORUM}">{FORUM_NAME}</a></h2>
replace with:

Code: Select all

<h2><a href="{U_VIEW_FORUM}"<!-- IF FORUM_ID == x --> style="color: #yyyyyy;"<!-- ENDIF -->>{FORUM_NAME}</a></h2>
change 'x' with the forum id, and 'yyyyyy' with the color code.
then refresh templates through ACP.
