I have a template that I have been playing with, and what I would like to do is put the forum in the space you can see in the image.
Is it just a case of making the template the overall header? I have manage to do it to a fashion, but I cannot get the forum with right.
I am using prosilver special edition for the forum.

Here is the template code:

Code: Select all

	<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
	<link href="style.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />
</head>

<body>
  <div id="wrapper">
    <div id="wrapperi">

You want just the forum itself in that area?
Your page would have to be part of the forum for it to work, other wise you would need to use frames, and that is a bad what to do it.

Also note that you are degrading the site with your currant head

Code: Select all

<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
Prosilver styles are XHTML strict not transitional. It will not effect the page at all, theres just no point in downgrading the doc type if you don't have to.

Thanks for the reply topdown.
Yes I just want the forum in that white box area.
I know this sounds stupid, but what do you mean by "degrading"?
And I never thought of adding a frame, would this cause problems?
Is it a lot more than just dropping the overall header code into that section marked in the above image?
Thanks in advance.

Well after hours of trying, and endless cups of tea, I am still having problems!
If I make the image above the overallheader.html, and then the white space where I want the forum to be, the index_body.html, what part of the code from the overallheader.html do I need to make it all work?
I have adjusted the forum width in the css, but it is still loading up all wrong?
Is this something that is a difficult thing to do, bearing in mind I am not a professional web designer!!

Transitional is original created when you want to use tags ( <center> , align ) instead of css ( stylesheet ) codes.
And strict is used for a clean code with a lot of css ( stylesheet ) codes.

I-frame is not save, and it can give you cookie issues.
