Fixed position header question

Post by ThunderCrew » Tue Oct 27, 2009 11:37 pm

I am working on new design etc and am having trouble finding where to get to the header area to set it as fixed so content will scoll up under it without it moving the overall header.

I opened the overall header.html to see what the ID is to start the header area so I could go find it in .css files to tweek BUT "id="page-header" confuses me as I opened EVERY .css file and "found no matches" for page-header :?

Am I even looking in the right direction?
I assumed I would start with a new set of divs wrapped around the overall header but could not find the first header id of "page-header" in any .css files with phpbb 3.0.5

The header in prosilver is actually "headerbar" placed inside "page-header".
"page-header" has no css data, you are correct.
Used the firefox web developer toolbar for this one.

Code: Select all

.headerbar (line 198)

{

background-color: #ebebeb;

background-image: none;

background-repeat: repeat-x;

background-attachment: scroll;

background-position: 0pt 0pt;

color: #ffffff;

margin-bottom: 4px;

padding-top: 0pt;

padding-right: 5px;

padding-bottom: 0pt;

padding-left: 5px;

}

.headerbar (line 2723)

{

background-color: #12a3eb;

background-image: url(./styles/prosilver/theme/images/bg_header.gif);

color: #ffffff;

}

I'd recommend these topics for a good read on how to colorize or find the files you need to edit, and the second link is how to package a style as your own.
