Changing the forums titles

Post by adiz » Sun Dec 20, 2009 3:25 pm

Which file do I need to edit in order to change the titles of each forum?

Thank you,

Adi

That's the name of the category you made.

General>manage forums

Thank you.

But I would like to change it from a style point of view - let's say to make it bold or to change the font size.

That's here in colours.css: :)

Code: Select all

/* Links on gradient backgrounds */
#search-box a:link, .navbg a:link, .forumbg .header a:link, .forabg .header a:link, th a:link {
	color: #FFFFFF;
}

Can you be more specific? The code that you gave me is for the search box on the forum?

Actually, it's for the link you were talking about. Yes, it does also re-style the "Advanced Search" link in the header, but that's only because there isn't any independent code that styles category names.

If you wanted to only style the category names, you'd have to add something like this to the bottom of colours.css:

Code: Select all

.forabg .header a:link {color: #F00;}
Or if you wanted to be really specific you could use something like this:

Code: Select all

.forabg .header a:link {color: #F00;}
.forabg .header a:visited {color: #000;}
.forabg .header a:active {color: #FF0;}
.forabg .header a:hover {color: #C0F;}
You can add your own custom CSS such as font-size within that. ;)

Still not working - I added the code you gave me, refreshed the style - but I couldn't see any change.

Any suggestions?

Thank you.

Did you refresh the theme cache?

Admin Panel => Styles Tab => Style Components => => Themes => *your style* => Refresh => Confirm => Yes

If that doesn't work, try clearing your browser's Cache as well (Ctrl + F5) and if it still doesn't work, post a link to your board. :)

Ok - thank you not it's working.

What about to make it bold? I didn't manage to do that.

Where do I need to fill in the bold tag?

Thank you.

You'd need to do something like this, and apply it to the other link states:

Before:

Code: Select all

.forabg .header a:link {color: #F00;}
After:
.forabg .header a:link {color: #F00; font-weight: bold;}
Having said that, I'm pretty sure they're already bold.

Again you are right!!! Thank you very much!

Why the category titles are capitalized? Any chance to change it?

Add this into the CSS:

Code: Select all

text-transform: none;
