adding a right sidebar

Post by solom » Sun Jun 27, 2010 6:20 pm

Greetings
I need help please. I want to add a right-sidebar, and move the poster's data from the right side to the top of each post instead. Can that be done from ACP style templates? how please?
(I'm using prosilver Special Edition)
Many thanks.

No, i think you have to do it through cpanel, as you have to edit the index.html(or php, whatever it is)

We recommend against using Web Based editors such as those found in the cPanel file manager. They have a tendancy to add some funky non-UTF8 characters which can break your board. Same goes for "Web Design programs" such as Dreamweaver / Expression Web etc...

Instead it's suggested to download the files using an FTP Client, edit the file(s) in a proper code editor such as Notepad++ and then upload the modified files. As for adding a sidebar, any of the following posts should help: http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... 4&t=624715, http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... #p12398725, http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... #p11173185.

Not possible, and to my knowledge none of the styles released for phpBB so far (other than some very outdated vBulletin copies) support this. If you wanted to have a go at coding it yourself you'd need to edit viewtopic_body.html , specifically everything between <!-- BEGIN postrow --> and <!-- END postrow -->. Everything between those tags is what makes up each post layout.
