[Split From] attachment file comment very small font size

Post by carla1234 » Wed Apr 13, 2011 6:37 pm

Hi
So was this resolved does this work?

Can I get the full path to the file I am suppose to modify?

How can I increase the font size on my site too, using V 3.0.8 Prosilver and Subsilver2 styles.

Any way to put this in the configuration for future versions so files dont need modified?

Have had many users complain about the font size so small many have suggested even making it bold and or another color to make it stand out and easier to read.

Thanks in advance

Prosilver : Open content.css

find

Code: Select all

.attachbox dd dd {
	border: none;
}
replace it with

Code: Select all

.attachbox dd dd {
    border: none;
font-size: 15px;}
Refresh your theme After that
It depends on how you will be update if you replace all files then you will have to modify the files again.

to change site default font
open common.css
find

Code: Select all

body {
	/* Text-Sizing with ems: http://www.clagnut.com/blog/348/ */
	font-family: Verdana, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;
	color: #828282;
	background-color: #FFFFFF;
	/*font-size: 62.5%; This sets the default font size to be equivalent to 10px */
	font-size: 10px;
	margin: 0;
	padding: 12px 0;
}
change the font size to what you want and then refresh your theme do it similarly for subsilver except for you have to look the code in stylesheet.css
Do not use acp editor to modify the changes

Hi thanks for the reply.

Can you give me the exact paths to the files I need to edit, I downloaded my site and searched for stylesheet.css" it returns 21 files what one of the 21 files do I edit?

I search for "content.css" it returns 6 files.

I search for "common.css" it returns 6 files.

Sorry but I am having trouble following any of the instructions you have provided.

Maybe I asked too many questions at one time.

The default theme for my site, the one I force everybody to use is subsilver2 so lets just start with that one, I will need exact paths to the files I need to edit, if you can give me the "search for this" "replace with this" that would be great I have no clue what to look for and to change.

It looks pretty simple to change just never done it before or messed with .css files before.

Thanks again.

Sorry for the delay in the reply the post notification never sent me a email that my post was replied to dunno if its because the topic was split or what the deal was, also how do I get back to the original post this was split from?

I have people sending me emails wanting me to PAY for the info to change the font size but I dont feel this is something I should have to pay some unknown person with a gmail account $30.00 for the answer.

Sorry guys not into giving out my personal info and credit card info to total strangers on the internet nice try. :lol:

Never knew changing the font size could be so complicated.

Thanks

Hi
Thanks for the reply, I went to styles\subsilver2\theme and the only .css file their is stylesheet.css so I assume this is the file to edit?

I opened the stylesheet.css and did a search for "attach" and found a bunch of entries like "attachtitle" and "attachcontent" I am unsure what to edit.

Any hints I have never changed font sizes before.

Thanks again.

First, sorry for digging out an old post. But I am looking for this feature ("enlarging" font size of attachment's File Comment)

I am using prosilver style, and I don't find the above mentioned code in /theme/stylesheet.css

Anyone knows how I could make a similar update with prosilver style?

Thanks!

prosilver has several different css files. the one named colours.css has mostly color and image code.
the common.css will have most of the text size etc. code.

download the relevant file to your computer, use ONLY a good text editor to open/edit it.
use the text editor's search function to find the relevant css and change it to suit.

the easiest way to find the relevant code is to click on the page where you see the font you want to change.

right click on it, choose "inspect element" or whatever your browser uses. then you will see exactly what css controls that bit of text/image/etc. etc. and exactly what file it is in.
