Prosilver Complete Sidebar

Post by gmil »

Since I wanted to put sidebars in my BB I have add the code that included here:
https://www.phpbb.com/kb/article/prosil ... -tutorial/
and then I followed the instruction in order to change the width of sidebars and even though I have changed the below code

Code: Select all

/* right sidebar */
.fluidfixed-sidebar, .fixedfluidfixed-right {
    position: absolute;
    right: 0;
    top: 0;
    width: 260px;
    bottom: 0;
    padding: 0;
}
To increase the width replacing 260px with 300px
and the below code

Code: Select all

/* right sidebar, left section */
.fluidfixed-content {
    padding-right: 270px;
}
replacing 270px with 310px
the widths remain as before after having done refresh by acp

Could you please let me have your opinion

That was an experiment since actually I would like to center the forum content and the two sidebars have equal width

Have you deleted your browser cache too? Sometimes you may have to do this a couple of times.

5hocK, since those changes have been done on localhost for trial purpose, my BB doesn't include the sidebars... instead my BB currently is fixed width and centered http://www.weldinguide.com/

Is the site on localhost an exact copy style wise? Or a default install?
The guide is assuming default files to start off with; without knowing what's been changed and without being able to see what's going on sort of makes things awkward.

5hocK,
I think that I have not understood the process very well... I have created two file right_sidebar.html and left_sidebar.html as well as I have place code like this
<div class="fixedfluid-sidebar">
<!-- INCLUDE sidebar_left.html -->
</div>

in the overall_header.html

How is the right_sidebar.html and left_sidebar.html called by the overall_header.html

What the fixedfluid-sidebar, fixedfluid-content, fluidfixed-sidebar, fluidfixed-content, fixedfluidfixed-left, fixedfluidfixed-content stand for?
