Post by LisaBP » Tue Mar 22, 2011 9:39 pm

After searching the forum and the internet in general, I am unable to find any pre-made topic icon paks. I thought I might be using the wrong terminology (newbie of all newbs) and also searched for post icon paks, still nothing.

It appears the experts lurk in this thread, so I am hoping for a point in the right direction.

Thanks in advance for your time and assistance!

Lisa

Try http://www.iconfinder.com/ for some possibilities, or ideas of what your after.

You might end up having to have your own icons made specifically for what you're after. What sort of Topic Icon Sets are you after?

Hello LisaBP!

As TheSnake said, that icon site is very usefull when searching for new images.

About the Topic Icon Sets, (Imageset) there is rarely any alone contribution on the images them self, as most of the images are made to a certain style.

You can search through this section for Imageset, or Icons for instance.

There's a square edition of the prosilver's (default style) icons, here.

You can pick a style from here, and just use the images.

Best of luck!

Hello everyone, I've had a forum up and running for a couple years now, but it has been dormant for the past 2 years because of spambot problems and my brother and I getting overrun. We finally got everything cleaned up and ready for use again, but the template we're using is very basic. It works for now, but we really need to update it soon! We're using the style 610nm:

http://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/style/610nm/

just for it's orange color scheme. There aren't many orange color schemes out there. :(

I was wondering if there was anyone that would be willing to help create a new professional looking forum template for us. The theme would be Dragonball Z. We would love it if you could incorporate the idea of our website into parts of the design. If you wanted to check out the site just look up Dragonball Museum in a search engine. I don't want to get flagged for site promotion or anything like that, so you can look it up separately. I'm not trying to promote the site, just looking for ideas for an awesome template. :)

I would LOVE it if someone could create something like this:

http://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/style/super_mario/

But instead of Super Mario it would be Dragonball Z. For example, instead of the header being one of the mario backgrounds, it would be a picture of the dragonball z Dragon on the right side with the 7 dragonballs clumped up on the left side with the dragon coming out of them, or something like that. We'd also like it if we could put the name of our website across the header as well.

And another cool thing I liked about that template was the mario mushroom notification icons! It would be amazing if someone could change those into like the four star dragonball that was grey with no new posts and turned orange when there was a new post!

And then of course have a cool color scheme that incorporated the color orange into the background and borders. An amazing template I found that did this was this new Septon Orange template!

http://www.phpbb.com/community/viewtopi ... &t=2026895

It's gorgeous! We'll most likely change our forum to this template for now, but we would REALLY rather go with a brand new, Dragonball Z specific, template design.

Anyways, we'd love to talk to anybody that would be interested in creating something like this. Either for fun or for commissions. We're looking for anybody!!

Oh and PS: We would also LOVE it if we could get a Dragonball Z set of rank icons as well! We're up for any ideas at all! Some we came up with would just be basic dragonballs instead of the usual stars. The higher up the ranks they go the more dragonballs are highlighted. And then possibly create a few special icon buttons for "administrator" or "forum admin," but instead saying something like "Grand Supreme Kai" or "Supreme Kai." You know, something fun and cool like that!

Or, if you know anything about DBZ, maybe have a little goku icon and as the ranks go up he starts normal, then turns super saiyan, then super saiyan 2, super saiyan 3, and finally super saiyan 4. That'd be a cool idea if it was possible. Neither of us have any experience in forums, so we're both kind of in the dark about what is or isn't possible. So yea, ANY ideas are welcome if you'd like to help out! Thanks!

Dave

A Screenshot or example of the code you are using would be helpful.

Hello
I am using prosilver and i have added a new header image as the same name ie:- bg_header. this seems to have copied the image and also put it behind the forums.
There does not seem to be an attachement section to put an image.

Thanks

You need to open one of the style sheets and edit the height attribute for the header img.
I'm usually stuck behind PHP, so one of the regular graphics guys would need tell you which file and what line to edit.

Hello Myster E!

Go to \styles\prosilver\theme and open colours.css

Find:

Code: Select all

.forumbg {
	background-color: #12A3EB;
	background-image: url("{T_THEME_PATH}/images/bg_header.gif");
}
Edit that image's name, and create your own in order to separate the forumbg with the headerbar.
Otherwise both will change when you edit the other.

Best of luck!

I tried that but it stayed the same, the only time it was gone was when i changed the header_bg back to the original blue.

I'm sure it is something really simple that i am not doing. i have refreshed etc.

Thanks

And how did you refresh?

Hi Sinom.

I made the edits in notepad & saved.

Refreshed F5 and refreshed in ACP & purged all sessions/cache.

Thanks

Hi there!
I would need a subsilver2-style icon saying "Compose PM" in the same style as the "new topic"-icon.
Is there a subsilver2-SDK somewhere for download?
