open colours.css.

find (it's the very first style call):

Code: Select all

html, body {
	color: #536482;
	background-color: #FFFFFF;
}
change the background colour to whatever you like (in this instance i'm guessing it'll be somewhere around the #999999 mark - if you want the exact same open photoshop and sample the image you took).

as for the gradient border and forum bg colours - they're images. you'll need to make one for yourself.

phpbb3 is still RC, meaning that it is still not a release quality product. This version is meant to be experimented with and broken. That is how you learn. Im only saying this because you sound desparate.
What will you do if you get your template perfected by pleading for every code change when the next RC version is released? It could be only a few days away. My advice is to find a template with similar structure to what you want and tear it apart. Change things just to see the affect. Youll be surprised how quickly you will learn.
for starters, here is a tutorial that will get you closer to what you want.

more advice...lol
work with proSilver ... it is all .css
make a new .css file and add the name of it to the end of stylesheet.css
example...
find
@import url("colours.css");
after add
@import url("your new style name.css");

as the last parsed .css file, it will override previous .css files and it will make it easier to take your new .css classes with you when you update to the next RC version

Thank you for that tip.
