Post by Abera »

How do I get rid of the repeat here and the image does not fill the header space at the bottom. How do I fix that? Why can't I just save the image as the header background ? No matter what size of the width it won't change.
Thanks

i have a black bg header with a logo, except with the logo centered sometimes the image is centered on the black bg header,

i'd like to split it, have the left side of the logo appear on the left side of the header, and the right side of the logo appear on the right side of the header, with black in between...

how do i accomplish this?

here is an example of what i'm talking about...

How did you get rid of the blue on the right side of yours. I've tried everything to get my image to cover the header and it won't.

I finally got it and I don't remember either. Too many things to do for an image. There should be a MOD for it.
Thanks for the come back anyway. :D

Hi
I've just read all 42 pages of this very useful thread. Thanks to Prototech for starting it and answering so many questions.

I noticed a lot of people ask about adding a menu bar - I looked around and found a very simple solution, for prosilver (and a slightly more complicated solution for subsilver) here:
http://startrekguide.com/community/view ... =83&t=4919

For prosilver it amounts to this:
open overall_header.html
find:
<div class="navbar">

add before:
<div id="tabs">
<ul>
<li class="activetab">
<a href="./your link1"><span>title1</span></a></li>
<li><a href="./your link2"><span>title2</span></a></li>
<li><a href="./your link3"><span>title3</span></a></li>
<li><a href="./your link4"><span>title4</span></a></li>
</ul>
</div>

Just replace './your link1' and 'title#' with your actual links

Since it is one image ( for what i currently see on your board ), you need to resize the image, or make two images of that.
If you use two images, you can give the left image a position to the left , and the other image a position to the right

@davidm999 the active tab will not work on that code.
You will need to use the SCRIPT_NAME switch to accomplish that.

I would like to add an RSS image which links to my RSS feed to my prosilver header, just under where it says "Home" and "Forums". Here is a screenshot of where I want it put (the shaded area would be replaced with my RSS image). Please instruct me on what would be required to achieve this.

Thanks

Hello,

O'm trying to modify the logo of a prosilverbased theme(blackdiamond)
after replacing the logo the rounded box collor doesn't seem right.
I would like it to be plain black.
I've tried several changes in both colours.css and common.css but with no results.

@thexam
You need to edit

Code: Select all

.headerbar {
background-color:#121212;
background-image:url(./styles/BlackDiamond/theme/images/bg_header.gif);
color:#FFFFFF;
}
Remove background-image:url(./styles/BlackDiamond/theme/images/bg_header.gif);
and edit background-color:#121212;

@Cstsxyfry212
Put your RSS image in the theme/images directory of your style
Then open your overall_header.html
FIND

Code: Select all

<ul class="linklist navlinks">
				<li class="icon-home">
REPLACE WITH

Code: Select all

<ul class="linklist navlinks">
				<li>
In your Home link's code
FIND

Code: Select all

>{L_HOME}</a>
{L_HOME} or Home whatever you used
CHANGE TO

Code: Select all

 class="icon-home">{L_HOME}</a>
Make sure {L_HOME} is whatever you have there

Then FIND

Code: Select all

{navlinks.FORUM_NAME}</a><!-- END navlinks -->
AFTER ADD

Code: Select all

<br /><a href="" title=""><img src="{T_THEME_PATH}/images/rss.png" alt="" /></a>
Make sure the closing </li> follows it. Add your URL, details and change rss.png to reflect your image.

You may need to refresh your templates when done.

Raimon, I'm using silverwhite, and I want to implement the same thing on my forums. But I can't seem to locate this code anywhere in my respective files -
index_body.html

Code: Select all

<!-- IF not S_USER_LOGGED_IN --><P>Welcome Guest: <a href="{U_LOGIN_LOGOUT}">{L_LOGIN_LOGOUT}</a> | <!-- IF S_REGISTER_ENABLED --> <a href="{U_REGISTER}">{L_REGISTER}</a><!-- ENDIF --> <span style="margin-left: 450px !important;">{CURRENT_TIME}</span></p><!-- ENDIF -->
viewtopic_body.html

Code: Select all

<!-- IF not S_USER_LOGGED_IN --><P>Welcome Guest: <a href="{U_LOGIN_LOGOUT}">{L_LOGIN_LOGOUT}</a> | <!-- IF S_REGISTER_ENABLED --> <a href="{U_REGISTER}">{L_REGISTER}</a><!-- ENDIF --> <span style="margin-left: 450px !important;">{CURRENT_TIME}</span></p><!-- ENDIF -->
viewforum_body.html

Code: Select all

<!-- IF not S_USER_LOGGED_IN --><P>Welcome Guest: <a href="{U_LOGIN_LOGOUT}">{L_LOGIN_LOGOUT}</a> | <!-- IF S_REGISTER_ENABLED --> <a href="{U_REGISTER}">{L_REGISTER}</a><!-- ENDIF --> <span style="margin-left: 450px !important;">{CURRENT_TIME}</span></p><!-- ENDIF -->
I don't have these pieces of code in my files. What else do I need to edit in that case?
