Its probably an easy fix, and something that I did wrong in the steps, but when I now try to access my forum I get this error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in url/phpBB3/cache/tpl_prosilver_overall_header.html.php on line 162

Any ideas why?

I was successfully able to delete the image, title, and description, but when I tried to replace the "change font" with search button, it gave me this error? Plus when I try to open the file in dreamweaver it says I'm denied???

Don't use dreamweaver, use a better editor like notepad++ to edit your templates.
Could you please post your overall_header.html , looks to me you deleted a switch or something.

i have removed the search box and added a search facility in the next line down. i went into my file manager and did the changes from here.

Another question:

if you look at my site www.talkyork.com how do i go about tidying up the links under my banner. i mean the:

board index
faq
search
register
login
View unanswered posts • View active topics
the time and date.

i would like all these items on one line if possible.

there is a lot of wasted space under the banner area and i would like it to be tighter, so moving on into the forum list a lot smoother. i hope this makes sense.

Continuing on from the board index line is the breadcrumb line.
Also when a member is signed in the space under the breadcrumb line contains:
The User Control Panel, the link to new PMs andthe link to active topics.


You could add the normal search box as indicated in this tutorial. The search link you have is to the advanced search.

What do I do, to make my 965 x 195 banner clickable to take people back to index?

I think my overall header is not allowing your changes to to work, because I deleted the portion so the forum description text won't show.

Any ideas?

I tried it and just get a text hyperlink at the top of my board, saying "index" and linking to the front. I want to make the whole banner clickable.

In colours.css instead of :

width: auto;
try
width: ???px; to correspond with the width of your banner image.

Initially I found the "Index" word appeared too, but it went when I refreshed the theme in the ACP. You might also try playing with the 964px numbers.

AHA! Refresh the THEMES! I've been refreshing only the template.

That created the banner size area the top as a hyperlink. Problem is, my banner is now below that area. I'm worried I've messed up something in my overall header.
